My company has a construction crew working there. I wonder if they will hear anything. I doubt it with it being an NCIS investigation.

Where is "there" exactly. Just curious about city and state.

Submarine life is stressful. I was there in Norfolk for 1986 to 1990. It was hard for us not to shoot our Senior Chief but we were adults.

Prayers for him and his family.
Do you know that he was playing with his sidearm, or is that speculation?

Thanks for the ping. And yes, prayers to his family. No matter how this happened, it's a tragedy for them.

On our sub we had a group of old salts. We had great respect for them. Then they transfered and we got a group of the most worthless, spineless chiefs I had ever seen. We called our sonar chief "The Jellyfish" to his face.

Some men are just not cut out for the job. And if you've got a bad chief then the division doesn't function properly. I could tell some stories, too, but I don't think it would be appropriate since my husband is still in.

Leadership is easy as long as you set standards and maintain them for yourself. Lead with consistency. Take care of your men and use common sense.
