Another memogate.

ABC and their minions in the death culture pushed the bogus story to influence public opinion.

ABC News has admitted that it knows nothing about the origins of the "GOP talking points" memo that it first published.

Hey, that's some great reporting there, ABC. Shout accusations from the ramparts, then claim complete ignorance as to your sources when asked. The MSM is taking "reporting" to depths that would embarass the National Enguirer, and maybe even Dan Blather.

Surprise, surprise. Smearing Christians and Republicans with a memo they cannot verify. Must have received pointers from CBS.

Hey, did you hear old Pete Jennings has sexual relations with barnyard animals? Got lots of memos to prove it. Of course, I've also got a constitutional right to keep my sources secret, cuz I'm a journalist, ie. I scribble for newspapers or run my mouth on TV. Oh yeah, I almost forgot -- Hillary Clinton is actually a trained chimpanzee that had extensive plastic surgery. Got memos and secret sources for that too.

Hmm...

From an earlier report:

ABC News identified four errors in the document, each noted with a (sic). The first such error is in the very first word, a misspelling of Terri Schiavo's name.

From ABC's latest comments:

For three days none of those sources has given us any reason to think there is more to the memo than a particularly naked expression of the politics of Shivo case.

the memo discussed a republican bill and was distributed to repulbican senators. That's what we reported. we are obviously not going to divulge our multiple sources. I appeciate your questions, but believe you are approaching this from the wrong end. We asked numerous sources - all confirmed that senators had received the memo in conjunction with one of the bills on the floor. For three days none of those sources has given us any reason to think there is more to the memo than a particularly naked expression of the politics of Shivo case.

As I read this, ABC is leaving open the possibility that they wrote & distributed the memo themselves.

No question or concern as to who gave them the memo...

Wow! Just when I thought that the MSM/Dems couldn't get more desparate or stupid, along comes this!

UPDATE: I should have made clear that this email wasn't sent to me, I got it from another blogger who has had extensive communication with ABC on this topic. In the meantime, I have had a very cordial email exchange with Mike Allen, the Washington Post reporter who wrote about the memo. He stands by his story, but declines to furnish evidentiary support for the authenticity of the memo. I think it's only fair to note that the cordiality and professionalism of boh ABC and the Post in responding to questions about this story have been striking

for what it is worth

Dems lie. And the press amplifies for them.

If conservatives put out phony "talking points" and tried to attribute them to dems, the press would catch it.

ABC and CBS aren't going to trumpet something that makes dems look silly, or selfish, or base. Nope. They don't make that mistake. But us? We're the "other". And it's easy to do it to the "other".

Why does ABC want us to live up to their crazy stereotype? What's in it for ABC, CBS or CNN? They maintain the stereotype because if the stereotype's not true, then they're jerks. Biased jerks. And their subconscious doesn't want to face that.

ABC will do whatever it takes to make us "deserve" the unfairness they hand out. The alternative -- that they (the news people of ABC, CBS, NBC) would be forced to see that they're narrow minded and biased is worth every defense mechanism they can muster. And muster they do.

Every time a negative story about conservatives is shown to be a lie, they quickly "move on". It's a mistake they say -- only they don't make the same "mistakes" with liberals. It's like a store that always overcharges but never undercharges. Or an insurance company that overbills by "accident" but never underbills by accident. And why do they delude themselves? What's in it for them? Everything. When presented with information that feeds their self serving image of conservatives, they jump on it. It's why all the stories that trash a political group and later turn out to be lies are against conservatives.

Germans did the same thing to Jews before WWII. You can't trash a group without trying to make it look like they deserve it. It's a creepy tradition. One the ABC and others should avoid.
