Betcha Felos is pulling those strings. The more hours he can get this tied up in one court or another, the more likelihood that Terri will suffer further and possibly die in the interim. Thus the demand that if the Schindlers won any stay, that they (Michael and Felos) be granted an 8-hour window for appeal before the tube could be reinserted.
Yes... everything they do and the courts do has the time factor in mind.
Greer forbids DCF from picking up Schiavo
Thursday, March 24, 2005
Greer had a busy day Wednesday.
There is concern about the Department of Children and Families possibly removing Terri Schiavo from her Pinellas Park hospice.
Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge George Greer issued an order Wednesday to forbid that from happening or any other type of interference by DCF or people acting on their behalf.
Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, contacted Greer after getting word that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was planning to escort DCF investigators to the Woodside Hospice to pick her up, keep her for 24 hours and rehydrate her.
"Since it appears imminent that the department is likely to do something in contravention of that rule of law, this court is going to grant the oral motion," said Greer.
Greer's mandate said anyone that gives Schiavo treatment is breaking the law and will be held in contempt of court. It also put the Pinellas sheriff in charge of the situation in order to make sure FDLE doesn't try to remove Schiavo anyway.

It's like they need to keep the denial of food and water legal to soot their own conscience.
I ran into a woman who is from the home of the Pulitzer School of Journalism. I asked her to go home and nominate www.theempirejournal.com for a Pulitzer Prize. She said "okay".
tutstar, I have been searching for the last hour for that verse too.!! Just cannot quote it in my head enough to do the search on BibleGateway!!.....if you find it, ping me.
"Since it appears imminent that the department is likely to do something in contravention of that rule of law, this court is going to grant the oral motion," said Greer.
The Good Ol' Boy network runs deep. There were already reports of one of the top DCF officials being a pal of Greer. No doubt he has plenty of contacts on the inside that will keep him one step ahead of the governor.
since when is protecting a citizen " in contravention of the rule of law " for the Governor?????
I can't believe that the legislators have been threatened. That is wrong and no one should ever do that. However, we know that Dems have voted for TErri's life and it seemed to be implied that the conservatives are making the threats. That's a prejudicial position because we have bipartisan agreement that Terri should live just as there is bipartisan agreement for her death.
Oh, the irony is rich in that statement by Greer. The one who has flaunted the law and decreed his own word as law demands that DCF follow the law, despite the fact that numerous Florida Statues give them not only the power but the obligation to intervene.
More importantly, there must be a protocol by which doctors who want to show non-PVS are allowed to do so and override those who want to show PVS. Some of Dr. Death Cranford's PVS diagnoses are so patently unreasonable one would think he was looking in a mirror.
John 16:1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.
16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
Jhn 16:3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Laura Ingraham just mentioned Greer forbidding DCF to take Terri into protective custody.
They need to move and get that girl hydrated asap!
What they are thinking they are voting for is her right to refuse treatment.
But the method they used to certify her wishes and the doctors they used to prove she was in pvs were slanted to make sure they would get this rule.
And including hydration as one of the "extraordinary means" of sustaining life means anybody in any physical shape who cannot answer for themselves because of a handicap, but has someone who will claim that they were told they didn't want to go on if they were in this type of physical shape can be put to death.
Morally, we need a presumption for life.
Legally, that probably has to be done on the state level.
Obviously, it's not they way they do it in Florida!
Lord, keep Terri and those who love her always in the palm of your hands.
Lord, if possible, let the light of day and justice and right shine onto any and all wickedness involved in what they are doing here.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
I've been saying the same for days. When my husband worked in law enforcement, he had a partner that had moved to the dept. from clearwater. He said that the cops down there in Clearwater and Pinellas all use the good-ol' boy system, as well as the lawyers and judges. It's "who you know and where you could go" down there. The cops who do not like it put up or shut up. Scary thought? Pray for the people praying at the hospice. Floriduh, be careful!!!
