another disgusting stat.
No money from the settlement given for her therapy to go to therapy - hundreds of thousands to lawyers, and for her cremation.
I can't take any more tonight. stayed up til after 3:30 last night - after midnight back here now -
I'm gonna need intervention if I don't get some sleep...
BIG Prayers for Terri
Yes it is. The DCF has the authority to act immediately, and they should. Terri is in a dire emergency, one caused by her 'guardians' be it MS or Greer. If it's Greer, then he obviously cannot be the judge for the hearing after her removal. (I say this but haven't looked up the Florida statutes. It is Florida afterall, I may be in for a surprise.)
As you said though, Greer acting as guardian himself should be illegal. Heck, I think it should be illegal for lawyers to donate to judicial campaigns as Felos did to Greer this last election.
O Lord, may it be thus. Amen
Is Friday considered a legal holiday?
This may be why they are waiting. It's Thursday in FL right now (still Wednesday for me).
Ya know I am wondering how many of these judges who are so pious might have things such as pacemakers, take any kind of respiratory treatmenets that if they were not permitted to use could result in a respiratory distress for them.. a diabetic but take away their insulin ??? just some food for thougt and needed to ventilate
"They all lie. Roe v Wade was based on lies as, well. Norma McCorvey (Roe) wasn't even pregnant. And they just used her. The lawyers in the case were shopping a client victim for a case to make abortion legal."
Yes, you're so right.
The "right-to-die" crowd is working hard to make this case court precedent too - so they can make money and also implement a social agenda designed to do away with certain people.
Please don't feel bad. So many of us are just so overwrought and desperately needing to hear some good news. Tempers seem to be running short these days. It's not your fault if the news media can't get their facts straight.
that should be time enough to get the investigation started and michael removed as guardian - PRAY
cause its not nice to spread incorrect information
hello again.:)
Greer 'ruled' it was OK to be Judge, jury, and executioner, and guardian, guardian ad litem, God.
Powerful!
And the more time that passes, the more people learn, and we end up feeling much more than we ever bargained for.
Floriduh voter, when the judge ordered the Ten Commandments monument removed from the Alabama courthouse - over 2,000 people showed up. You said it got crowded with 200 tonight - I hope you see more than that tomorrow. I read several posts here today by people getting ready to head your way.
God bless you, dear soul.
State could rescue Terri
despite judge's denial
Florida Department of Children and Families says law permits action without judicial OK
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=43458
from World Net Daily
Florida's DCF indicated it might remove the brain-injured woman, by force if necessary, from the hospice where she has lived the past five years.
Department secretary Lucy Hadi told the Palm Beach Post her staff is relying on a state law giving authority to intervene on behalf of a vulnerable adult "suffering from abuse or neglect that presents a risk of death or serious physical injury."
Hadi said DCF must file a petition to remove Terri Schiavo from the Pinellas Park, Fla., hospice but could take action without judicial approval if the department believes it's warranted.
The law says emergency medical treatment can be given to the vulnerable adult as long as "such treatment does not violate a known health care advance directive prepared by the vulnerable adult."
The court history would not prevent DCF from taking action, however, according to Hadi.
"We're not compelled to look at prior judicial proceedings," Hadi told the Post. "What we're compelled to look at is the presenting circumstance and any allegation of abuse and neglect that we've received. So we have to deal with those and fulfill our statutory responsibility, notwithstanding anything else that may have gone on before."
She insisted the court decisions upholding Michael Schiavo are questionable.
"There's nothing about this case that has been clear-cut, except our concern," Hadi said. "We're doing everything we can to be of assistance."
Felos also authorized Michael to use her money to hire FELOS. It's a matter of public record as well.
Sorry for the goof, but you get my drift.
I hope so too!
F.S. 415 gives the Governor permission to place a disabled person into protective custody, something like that. It's late but that's the law.
but of course not in the blind eyes of Greer and I don't feel he has the respect to be called Judge anymore
Hi, fv, hugs to you. thanks for hanging in there, and your posts. I don't know if I can get down there (don't know if you all WANT me to, hehe), but where do people need to park this time?
I do hope to awaken in a few hours to news that sure enough, Terri is safe. I just sent Jeb another "fwiw" email . . . we are all praying for Terri, for HIM -- he is there for just such a time as this, please make it happen, Jeb!
