Her parents also admitted under oath they know she's PVS. All her doctors who treated her for the first 3 years and her therapists.
This from an article a couple of days ago in the Billings Gazette:

Several studies have documented high rates of misdiagnosis. In one 1996 British Medical Journal report, 43 percent of patients admitted to a London hospital brain-injury unit were found to have been wrongly classified as being in a vegetative state. Other accounts have put misdiagnosis rates at about 18 percent.

Very recent research using Functional MRI has revealed that brain function in Minimally Conscious (the state that this new doctor thinks Terri is in) patients is surprisingly better than what conventional wisdom has held. Studies showed that minimally conscious patients show the same brain reaction to voices of loved ones talking about fond memories as the brains of people with healthy brains. If you want I can link to several of these, including a very recent article published in the very respected Neurology journal.

Are we letting the people who wish her dead frame the argument? To me, it is not whether she is PVS or whatever. It's that she is a human being and should not be murdered.

Yes, and the affidavit by Dr. Cheshire does a pretty complete if brief review of the literature on fMRI/PET findings that distinguish PVS from Minimal Consciousness. CAT, purely a structural view, shows the presence of cerebral cortex. At issue is functionality, and CAT tells you nothing about that.
