A state judge issued an emergency order Wednesday to keep the Department of Children & Families from taking any action that would reconnect Terri Schiavos feeding tube. George Felos, the attorney for Michael Schiavo, asked Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer to issue the order Wednesday while the judge considers a request from DCF and Gov. Bush to take custody of Terri Schiavo.

This may explain the delay.
Vermin.
I will be sure to tell him that my family won't be vacationing in Florida any time soon.

Why were the DCF at the press conference then?
It's all about ego now.
The Schindlers made the mistake of questioning his authority and he's making the entire country pay for it.
That's exactly it IMO. This judge doesn't want to lose face. He would rather see a human being die than have his pathetic little ego bruised.
I am a Georgia poster and I am VERY close to driving down there. I am sick of sitting here listening to all these judicial pimps.
I knew somebody could make the html easier and correct, to boot.
Thanks.
See #173.
Are you actually unable to discern a joke from a fact?
That man is on the "Multiple Sclerosis Society, National Advisory Board" Oh, I'm sure that all those with MS will just love knowing that he voted to kill a helpless handicapped woman.
Many non-Floridians sent aid or workers during the last hurricane emergency -- what a jerk . . .
Aid was sent to HELP HUMAN BEINGS -- apparently it is ok if others send aid to needy in Florida, but it is also ok for Florida to ignore their own needy human beings.
HOW many sent fresh water to Florida last time around? Remind him please.
Bo Gritz needs a cell mate.
Yeah, Hitler was a Christian too.
If you were being sarcastic, you didn't do anything to indicate that. People often wrongly claim that Hitler was Christian to denigrate Christianity, and it would not have been unusual for you to be doing that. If you weren't, then perhaps more clarity in writing would cause less confusion.
"He has to do it in the middle of the night."
that would not be long now . . . I'd rather hear that Terri is being hydrated before I go to bed again . . .
Like I said, there are abuses...but this case represents the good intent of the law and should be used IMHO.
Awesome! Thanks. I really had no idea who I was looking for or how to find him.
But, I did find a great website to email all of the Fl. senators all at once! http://neprimer.com/cc/FL-Senate.htm
And here is the email address of James King, the senator who complained about getting too many emails about Terri:

Jeb was asked at the news conference, and said that himself (That DCF makes the call, not him). That being said, I'm sure he has at least powers of rational persuasion.
The "law" is about enforcement.
What entity is going to enforce the judiciaries interpretation of "the law"?
I don't need platitudes i want to know why that order would stand. A preemptive order has to be limited in scope and time.
Further, should emergency conditions that are not foreseen, for example a flood that order would obviously be negated.
Anybody specializes in administrative law.
