WASHINGTON-- An unusual left-right coalition opened a campaign Tuesday to sharply curtail controversial provisions of the USA Patriot Act, showing that Congress and President Bush face a pointed debate over renewing the law enacted just 45 days after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Are there any numbers to how many terrorists have been found from the methods allowed by the Patriot act?
If the ACLU is involved in it, that means it ain't good for our country as a whole.
You got it. The ACLU is a communist front group that has consistently sought to destroy America through it's court systems. They are also currently involved in the Terri Schiavo case.
We don'r ask those questions
I just don't get all the carrying on. If the government wants to follow me or bug my phone, the only result will be terminal boredom. If the ACLU is against it, I'm for it - it's as simple as that.
Whenever some group has a bunch of leftists and the participation of one or two people who take the "conservative" label, but usually stand at some distance from most Conservatives (like Pat Buchanan and Bob Barr) that group is always touted by the MSM as some realistic left-right alliance. Its like saying Hillary is a centrist when she goes to Iran and says she supports the troops. Barr and Buchanan are good people, in a number of ways. But they do not have large followings among the majority of Conservatives and I cannot think of very many Conservatives who avidly look for and follow their positions.
I also feel the same way about Sarbanes-Oxley and most legislative "reform" laws.
I'm not against the patriot act, but I don't want to recieve a "placebo" against terrorism, nor do I want "cyanide" to protect me from it. Tell me, what is and isn't working.
I have no problem with the Patriot Act.
Shame on all of them.
