Criminals, including murderous sexual predators for example, have MORE rights than Terri Schiavo.
Jeb has to wait until the court appeals are exhausted and a hearing held before judge Greer before Terri is taken into custody, otherwise he could be in violation of a court order.
What's that saying? 'Even a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut'.

The problem is, has been and will remain, there is a finding of fact by a state court that this woman does not want to be saved through extra ordinary measures, in essence she has asked for her own death.
Everything that can be done to overturn that ruling has been done, save for Anthony Kennedy telling the Schindlers to go pound sand.
Any action taken by the executive at this point, is theoretically taking action against Terri Schiavo's wishes and contrary to the applicable law.
I have been an advocate for saving this woman's life and perserving the rule of law at the same time. Unfortunately, those two ideas have now become mutually exclusive.
If Jeb wants to act, he has my support. But if he doesn't he shouldn't be castigated by our side either.

I had a not so cordial exchange with a "christian" yesterday where I quoted the same verse (along with several others about adultry). I can accept that the Lord's will is being done, I may not like it or understand it, but I can accept it. What I am having such difficulty with are all of these so called christians that are defending Mike Sciavo and the murder of this woman. If you know anything at all about scripture, I cannot possibly comprehend this cavalier attitude. It has really weighed quite heavily on my heart. I can't help but think of Revelations (forgive me I don't remember the verse) where it is written that men's hearts will be hardened. Is this not what we are witnessing? I guess only our Father knows the answer to that...

I did not hear them say that DCF action depended on passage of the Senate bill. I got the impression that it was not dependent on the Senate bill. But they cut in halfway through the conference and I may have missed it. Does anyone else have confirmation on this?

Tom Maguire beats me to the punch in dissecting this popular new meme. Read his entire reality check. Tom points to another blogger, LeanLeft, who also debunks the blame-Bush-for-killing-patients-for-money line being plied by Mark Kleiman among others.
Jeb/DCF want to approach this with clean hands.
If our government cannot save Terri from this murder, its very legitimacy will be in question. Read the Declaration of Independence if you think that's a stretch.
