Its a risk... but not a very big one. If he saves her, and it turns out she was a) not PVS and/or b) put into this state by her monster husband, he comes out a hero.... if he does hve Presidential aspirations he will gain the gratitude of the republican base by this action. Most of the people upset with him will be people who would not vote for him anyway.

The authority to take her is with DCF and he said he backed them.

Greer, since he is guardian ad litem, is an adverse party in a DCF action responding to an abuse allegation; he may even be an alleged perpetrator. In that event, he is conflicted and cannot act from the bench to block DCF action. If he denied DCF access to the records today, he may have signed the warrant for his own removal.
