PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - Their options dwindling after two failed federal court appeals, Terri Schiavo's parents and brother vowed Wednesday to take their fight to the U.S. Supreme Court and state Legislature as the brain-damaged woman was in her fifth day without a feeding tube.
Gov. Jeb Bush renewed his call for the Legislature to step in and ``spare Terri's life.''
In a 2-1 ruling early Wednesday, a panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta said the parents, who have battled with son-in-law Michael Schiavo for years over the woman's fate, ``failed to demonstrate a substantial case on the merits of any of their claims'' that the feeding tube should be reinserted immediately.
``There is no denying the absolute tragedy that has befallen Mrs. Schiavo,'' the ruling by Judges Ed Carnes and Frank M. Hull said. ``We all have our own family, our own loved ones, and our own children. However, we are called upon to make a collective, objective decision concerning a question of law.''

You are within your rights to do so as the executive, and decent, virtuous citizens all over this nation would respect and applaud it.
Ping!

Governor,
Please intercede for Terri and save her life so that someone in authority who has "credibility" can then carefully look over the entire story.
It appears that a very evil thing is being perpetrated in Florida. So many people recognize this now. The facts are muddled, emotions are high. Now that the case has become in effect, a "national issue", why can't the executive step in and exercise some prudence in this matter?
If authority doesn't "do right", how can authority survive? Whatever the people no longer support, falls down.
Sincerely,
F*** H****
Austin, Texas
The NYT's and the Miami Herald would say mean things about them.
But what is worse is that no male in her family has even been arrested for trying to save her life.
This is Terri's only hope. The Florida Legislature. I heard Terri's mom say that they were one vote short of a bill in the State Senate that would save Terri. If Terri dies, the Florida Legislature will carry some blame.
This will be another stain on the State of Florida if this is allowed to happen.
I am completely against the Federal Government getting involved in this matter. It is a state issue.

Any Florida state legislator that votes against giving Terri Schiavo food and water is a murderer and her blood is on their hands.
Jeb Bush is getting on my last nerve!!! He can save Terri by picking of the phone or pushing a button. For God's sake, why doesn't he act. Enough of these wimpy words already. DO SOMETHING JEB BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!
We don't know what she wanted. You don't kill people in those circumstances.
You're also a troll.
To quote the SecDef on "24" to his leftist son, "Spare me your sixth grade Michael Moore logic!"
Sorry but I think Terri has as much of a future as the Jews in Gaza. In both cases everyone who has any power is against them and their supporters are too timid to make the hard decisions that could save them.
I did a google search on "Florida law adultery criminal" and found a web site that claims that under section 798.01 of the Florida code that:
"Whoever lives in an open state of adultery shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083." Reportedly, punishment for a misdemeanor of the second degree can be up to 60 days imprisonment.
I don't know how new guardians are chosen but would think her parents are the logical alternative and know they would direct her to be fed and given water again.
Even if this doesn't work to save Terri, why not do it? If you're going to arrest people who are just trying to take water to Terri, why won't you arrest the man who is killing her for his own violations of Florida law? Why does he get a free pass? Because adultery is popular but saving people from murder by starvation is not?
Suggest you fill out and Living Will and SIGN it!

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Florida ping list!. . .don't be shy.
The answer to your question is YES. Perhaps you need to listen to Kate Adamson!!!!She came back and is beautiful!!
Gov Bush has nothing to lose by taking some executive action. He cannot run for reelection and he says he does not want to run for president. Even if he were going to run for some office in the future I would think he would let his conscience dictate what he should do. I hope he has the courage to do what is right.
President Bush has already shown himself to be fearless, I would say, as far as taking actions that are risky and potentially very unpopular. But I don't know how much he can do in this case.
