Terri's Priest accuses Michael of "Abuses I wouldn't do do a dog"; her parents have to STRIP SEARCH
Fox News TV 7:15 AM Wednesday | 03/25/05 | gentlestrength

Posted on 03/23/2005 4:31:37 AM PST by gentlestrength

On Fox: Terri Schiavo's spiritual advisor from her parish, Paul O' Donnell says "Her parents have three police check points, one a strip search. In the room there is a policeman because they fear Rose might give Terri water."

Q: What do you think of Michael? "I think he [Michael] wants what is best for him...I can give a laundry list of abuses that I would not do do a dog."

Q: How does she look? "She is pale white instead of rosy, her cheeks are beginning to sink in, and her tongue is beginning to swell."

"When our cat was dying the vet gave him a shot to put him to sleep without pain. It is against the law to just let the family pet suffer, starve, and die slowly and painfully......"

We had a cat from 1986 until 2002. Three times vets wanted to put him down -- once when he was young, once a few years later, and a few years after that.

Every time we took him home with us instead, and every time he got back up, drank an enormous amount of water, and recovered.

Changed my entire perspective on the question.

He can't. An executive order can't be used to exceed the constiutional authority of his office. There are just some things a president with all of his power can't do. I listend to Mark Levin explain patiently to a lib on the radio why then President Clinton couldn't pardon Karla Fay Tucker. The caller finally hung up because she just couldn't grasp that the president didn't have the authority to issue pardons or grant clemency to somone who wasn't convicted of a federal crime.

Not that his case has anything to do with a crime, but it's certainly not an issue that President Bush can legitimately address with this constitutionally limited authority.

"It is the same hatred they have for Terri."

1. Hatred of evil is not the moral equivalent of hatred of good.

2. Righteous anger is...well, righteous.

Michael Peroutka would have done so- he was running for president on the Constitutional ticket. Look what voting "prolife" for George Bush has gotten us- nothing.

same here... I've decided to go on a fast and go to church today. Unplanned. I felt the need to do so while watching the Holy Land rosary on television this morning. All I can do is pray now.

Why is it the removal of Teri's feeding tube, this so chosen method of death is "not inhumane, cruel, or unusual" yet the lethal injection to a death row inmate is?

I agree -- people should be out in the streets about this. It is horrific. The silent voices -- Hillary among them -- who are condoning this by their absence, should be made to pay big-time. It is truly dividing the country into two camps. Democrats, the Party of Death.

Question: Where was Terri when she had the heart attack? Was she at home alone with Michael? I've never heard the exact circumstances and timeline on this.

Was she at home with him, and he neglected to call 911 so that she could be defibrillated?

Here's another one for the donut watch. Police keeping anyone from giving some dying of dehydration water.

Why would it be awkward for Schiavo if his wife improved? He could always divorce her and turn guardianship over to the parents. I don't know why he hasn't done this. Maybe he has financial motives. But he may also have dug in his heels because he thinks he's right.
This is a tragic, messy and unfortunate case all around. But I get the impression that some posters who are the most emotionally overwrought and adamant in their opinions have the least experience with situations like this in their own lives. If I'm wrong about this, please correct me.

Is righteous anger the same thing as hate?

I don't see it that way. The motivation is different.

Do some research on Michael Schiavo and his actions in regards to Terri and you may understand why folks are angry at him. Like asking the nurse/caregiver, "When is the B-tch going to die?" - from her sworn affadavit.

"Is righteous anger the same thing as hate?"

Righteous anger is often mistaken for, or misrepresented as, hatred.

"I don't see it that way. The motivation is different."

How is the motivation different?

His girlfriend does. Her life and her childrens' lives. I hope she has a written and signed living will, and I hope Michael Schiavo's girlfriend stays in continued good health.
