I wrote this to a FReeper earlier. She was feeling much frustration with many here I believe because of what was, in her mind, a careless disregard for morality and the well-being of an innocent and quite defenseless girl, Terri Schiavo.
The intelligent and good FReeper was at the point of wanting to leave FR. So I wrote her:
*****
Don't go, please. You're one of the folks here with a real good heart and very strong feelings. That is a very good combination. Don't go ........
I'm getting a feeling (or a wish) that today (Wednesday) the Federal marshals or some others are going to take control of this abysmal situation. Unlike the Elian Gonzalez catastrophe, this will be for the good of a human being.
Maybe in the future it can be referred to as 'Good Wednesday'. Because the more I learn about this entire case, this girl has been done wrong since the very beginning and things must be righted. What is happening now must end....... well.
*********
I implore all who care about the wrongness of all this to contact the White House, contact anyone who could have something to do with getting action TODAY. There can not be any more wasted time and destruction of this innocent girl. If this husband is much of what we suspect, this matter should not be allowed to end in her death by these brutal means!
Not to mention Sandra Day O'Connor!
You said: "Not one of the Scriptures you provided stated we are to take up arms against the government."
Don't put words in my mouth.
I never said we're to take up arms against the government.
I'm encouraging people to go to Florida and attempt to give water to Terri. If the police have to deal with a thousand people trying to give water to Terri, it will be civil disobedience enough to make a VERY STRONG statement.
You seem to not understand what civil disobedience is. Blacks during the Civil Rights Movement did things like move to the front of the bus.
I'll be upfront and tell you that I think the fed intervention here is dubious. However, that's moot at this point, since the fed has become involved. The Fed is involved here, but the federal courts haven't ruled as you like, so your arguing for yet more intervention. To use an analogy, it's like a small child going from parent to parent, then to grandparent to grandparent with a request for candy until the child gets the answer he/she wants.
I don't think fed involvement was wise, you disagree. Fine, you got your way. The fed got involved and the fed courts ruled. Let's leave it at that now.
It would be wrong to stop the killing of a disabled citizen where suspicion of statewide corruption was found?
I don't believe she's being killed because there is statewide corruption. On my honor, I would take your side if I weren't convinced that this woman died 15 years ago in all but respiration. If I thought for a moment there was a thinking, feeling human being left in that husk, I'd take your side. I feel confident that I'm speaking for many who want a peaceful end for her when I say that. It's not because I'm corrupt, and it's not happening because everyone in FL is corrupt.
To be honest, I'm starting to feel the deepest sympathy for a lot of those who are so emotionally vested in Terri. I know that a lof them are hurting, and I feel for them, I truly do. However, that doesn't change the fact I think it's more than time to let Terri go.
Way past time.......... and I know I will get some folks angry with this...... but, I really love G.W. and worked very, very hard to get him elected.. BUT:
He and his brother must set SOMETHING in motion today to save this innocent girl.
G.W. has told us he is a good Christian, and I believe him. Well, if so get this done. Go save this girl from 15 years of a private prison and no therapy and save her now from ......... an unnatural, forced death.
It will be a political win in the end (if anyone cares) when the truth is learned about this situation, and beyond that it is the RIGHT THING TO DO.
If that's turly the case, then I read it wrong. My apologies.
isn't it time to make a bunch of arrests for "contempt of Congress?" - for ignoring subpoenas?
That would include Terri as she was served also - arrest her and take her into immediate protective custody...save her life and get her therapy and do a thorough investigation the entire absurd events from day one. (bye bye michael)
This is a historical situation and WILL affect not just Terri - but all of us.
If Terri is allowed to be murdered - so will we.
Good questions! I think something may happen today.
Please write (email) Jeb's office if you feel like it. Thanks.
you mean like the person who 'wrote' to me the following?: "...don't go putting words in my mouth you piece of shit loser"?
I didn't answer - I don't converse with such folk - but are you saying they should be allowed to make such remarks with impunity?
I said nothing about "barricades".
What did you think about the massive walks for civil rights in the late 50's and early 60's? Did they make your blood run cold?
I was in one, and my blood was warm.
Good points, beyond the sea!
Bottom line: Act 5:29 Then Peter and the [other] apostles answered and said, WE OUGHT TO OBEY GOD RATHER THAN MEN.
Who comes first in your life? God or man?
The sheep are being separated from the goats.
We've got some pro-euthanasia trolls inserting division on this thread.
We've got some pro-euthanasia trolls inserting division on this thread.
If Clinton could do it for Elian's Father & Fidel, so can the GWB Administration for Terri's parents.....if they have the nerve.
This will get verrrrrry interesting very fast.
GWB....Just Do It! Your constituency awaits.
I called the White House yesterday and left a message regarding Terri. I asked for an Executive Order and a full investigation by President Bush.
Some people simply ignore the rule about not personally insulting others.
