I am a former police dispatcher and you are blocking their lines...what if a emergency call comes in for someone else that needs help?
They didn't sound remotely put out...just the contrary, they sounded very thankful.
We are not calling their complaint line, we are calling their main line.
I was a dispatcher too! This number isn't the main number.
if this isnt an emergency, what is?
Good POINT!!
NOT SURE WHAT THAT PLAN WOULD BE.. BUT RIGHT NOW-- I CANNOT THINK OF ANYONE THAT NEEDS HELP MORE THAN TERRI..
I HAVE TO DO WHAT I CAN FOR SOMEONE IN TROUBLE THAT I KNOW I CAN HELP INSTEAD OF NOT ACTING JUST IN CASE THERE IS SOMEONE ELSE THAT I CAN'T HELP!!
I just got through.
They said "thank you very much for your call".
I was CPS and no, the phones aren't being blocked. If there was a real emergency (as if Terri's death isn't) there are special lines as well as beepers. As you well know, most don't call after 5 or before late night/early morning hours. At the odd hours most calls are placed to the police themselves and/or to the hotline which in turn calls the on-call worker at home.
You are full of crap.

I'm not sure which side your on, but to answer your question it's called a "cell phone"
