Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

I really hate to do it, but I have to go for the night. Prayers for success and I'll "see" you all in the morning. 'Night.

As has been discussed here:

simple draining of built up brain fluid, removal of implants, may improve her neurological condition.

We helped destroy CBS. I think this cause is even more important. We must put our heads together and do something.

Most definitely! But, right now, I think everyone's focused on Terri just getting some water....and food.

Me too, Freepertwo....I really wiped out tired. And I've got to get up in about 6 1/2 hours or so and work tomorrow.

You sleep as best you can, and so will I.

God bless you.

Yeah. From what I read last year on this forum was that she would suffer as she died. I tried to explain that to hubby but he says he wouldn't want to be kept alive that way. It's one thing to talk about it when it's just an abstract thing, but if it was my reality, I would not likely pull the tube.

This is terrible. I can't believe there are so many cruel, heartless, uninformed and inhumane "people" in our country.

This garbage shouldn't happen in our beloved country. America is better than this.

These pro-death liberals have the same mentality and mindset as the Nazis during the Holocaust.

I just spotted the Frank M. Hull post. Do I have to go back and wade through a lot or can somebody tell me how a female judge got to be named Frank?

Uhh...appointed 1997. Never mind. I can guess.

I've wondered all along if one the Schindlers' problems, going way back in this case, might not be the quality of the lawyering.

But I would think that at this point, with the case an international cause celebre, their counsel could access top federal litigation strategists, e.g., of Ted Olson's caliber, for pointers.

And DOJ surely has an interest in the Terri law being utilized to the best effect.

Good to see the Justice Department filed a brief for re-insertion of the feeding tube during the court process. Of course the Courts haven't been kind to the idea up to now.

Sadly, if the courts were going to attach the tube, they would have done it by now.

"Can't you imagine the HORROR that Michael would feel if Terri was given the best rehab and regained her speech!!"

Especially if she told us what really happened 15 years ago.

I am praying for just that.

Does anyone know if the state of FL legislature is working on doing anything?

"As I said, Whitmore's opinion is circular. His judgment is based on the trial court findings which the law required him to set aside."

Yes, it appears he broke a law passed by Congress. Too bad Congress didn't provide a provision for jail time for breaking it. That might be the only way to reign in activist judges.

Am I the only one who considers it a good sign that the judges are taking Terri's state into consideration (i.e., by promising to 'work through the night")?

I am inclined to agree.

Gibbs should have argued something new. This is the reason for appeals.

I would think the very fact that the DCFS is investigating Michael, would be a good place to start the arguments.

And the people in Pinellas County reelected Greer even after the first attempt to kill Terri.

The election laws forbid his opponent from making any mention of that. They also forbid Greer from claiming or implying endorsements from another judge, the sheriff, and various other people. Of course, Greer knows such laws were made for paeons and not for kings like him, so he ignored them.
