Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

"They can now say "We tried." Mission accomplished."
You said that of the Bush brothers.
Yes. They think we're all stupid idiots evidently.
That's a little silly thought now isn't it?
Makes sense to me. Don't they always ask the parent if it's ok if they take their kid?
My thoughts exactly. If that were the case, no one could ever investigate an abusive guardian. That fails the common sense test . . .. so it must be true(just kidding!)
actually, it's what jim king is quoted in the st petersburg paper as saying -- amdgmary posted article this am -- did you see it? talk about unbelievable. . . I carry it in my tagline now.
1) Senator James King championed the "Death With Dignity" package of Florida statutes in the 1990s.
"I have a personal feeling about what's right. I think that Terri is better off in heaven than in that bed."

2) Florida Senator James King Says Terri Must Die
"I've done all I can do," Senator James King replied. "I've listened to you. I'm not changing my mind. No. I'm done. I'm not changing," King said.
"I'm really saddened by the fact people don't understand (that) for some of us, heaven is a place where we think Terri will go. And we think, as good ardent Christians, that heaven is a better thing than anything we have experienced here on earth," King said.
"We can't understand why anybody would try, particularly staunch Christian advocates, would try to deny Terri the opportunity to have what has always been described to us as the promised land, King added."

Supreme court petition filed according to FOX News
That reminds me: I gotta be where the enemy is.
Be back later...
What do you know ec?
You're an optimist, brigette. I don't think they're going anywhere. I think they're flummoxed by Greer, or maybe that presser today was just a joint CYA operation by the DCF and the JEB.
I'll be utterly amazed if the DCF does anything more. They can now say "We tried." Mission accomplished.
On Greta they are saying that they don't expect anything more from DCF. Sounds like there is nothing more than they can do.
sorry, I have not seen her
Amen, Freepertwo.
Good night, rodguy. Thanks for your concerted interest in learning the facts.
No, that is a bunch of bull! I had a sister that worked for DCFS in the children's area. They never have to have permission to take a child or adult out of the care of the gaurdian if abuse is suspected.
no... the smaller the crowd the better, less people to stand in DCF's way. You have to think they must be careful when moving Terri also, so that they do not killer her trying to save her.
Patience...
(remember Jessica that was in Iraq? - remember the mission that was set-up to save her - it went down late at night? - I know Terri is not in Iraq - but in a sense she is being held hostage by people who want her to die.)
That is not the way it works.
No...the LAW states that if the GUARDIAN is under investigation (he is already) for causing the victim to be in said status...then the LAW and DCF can intervene with NO permission from a guardian.
This is intersting because greer has the OBLIGATION under the law to clear and even give DCF the room they need to move ahead.
By not doing so, AND AT THE SAME TIME DELIBERATELY THWARTING THERE EFFORTS is criminal under state statutes.
It was pretty quiet on the thread and few of us were posting. Made it easier.
That is true, they can not truly win. But we won't give up on this end, either. BTW, lovely graphic.
I can't believe that stupid little lawyer can be stronger then Jeb Bush. God please, can't they do a midnight raid against that hospice and take Terri. If Dick Daley can tear up Midway airport with any legal authority why can't Jeb take Terri.
I think I need to get drunk
