I've never heard of him before. What is his position on this case?

He's reduced it to a financial matter. See's nothing wrong with killer her, even if that is contrary to her past or present wishes.

I think you are oversimplying Howie's position, something that is generally hard to do. He believes that she is "not going to get better" (guess what, neither am I going to get any better, but please don't kill me) and apparently has bought in to the persistent vegative state jive.

I agree, Howie seems willfully ill-informed about this case.

I, myself, think the Florida courts are right on the law, wrong on the facts. In Catholic school they taught us that we are under no obliglation to take extraordinary steps to prolong life. ("Extraordinary" is up to the beholder, I suppose.) I am not convinced that Terry will not get better, given a chance, nor am I convinced that any of the means used to keep her alive are necessarily extraordinary.
