I cannot help but think she is going to be something like a martyr and provoke a HUGE backlash against the people that want her dead.
I am praying for her life but if she dies, she is in my opinion a martyr and may be beatified/canonized someday, like St. Gianna Beretta Molla.
>I cannot help but think she is going to be something like a martyr<
No matter if she lives or dies, Terri's plight has alerted many people of the importance of putting in writing, that under no circumstances do they want to be starved to death simply because they may have fallen into an incapacitated, but not terminal, state.
May God bless her.
"I cannot help but think she is going to be something like a martyr and provoke a HUGE backlash against the people that want her dead."
I agree...more and more people are becoming informed of the facts in this case, every day. The truth will come out, even if Terri dies in the meantime.
From The Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy
In Part:
"Starvation; Structural and functional changes due to the total lack of intake of energy and essential nutrients.
"Starvation is the most severe form of malnutrition. It may result from fasting, famine, anorexia nervosa, catastrophic disease of the GI tract, stroke, or coma. The basic metabolic response to starvation is conservation of energy and body tissues. However, the body will mobilize its own tissues as a source of energy, which results in the destruction of visceral organs and muscle and in extreme shrinkage of adipose tissue. Total starvation is fatal in 8 to 12 wk."

I pray for Terri's family and friends for the strength to endure this terrible ordeal. Our Lord Jesus died for our sins as acknowledged in Terri's faith. Alas, Terri, should this sequence of events not be stopped, will have died as a result of a legality. She is as innocent as those children who are yet to be born.
