TAMPA, Fla. - Warning that Terri Schiavo is "fading quickly," her parents begged a federal appeals court Tuesday to order the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube reinserted while they pursue claims that her rights are being violated.

David Gibbs III, attorney for parents Bob and Mary Schindler, told the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta that their 41-year-old daughter might die before they get a chance to fully argue their case. The appeal came after a federal judge in Tampa rejected the parents' emergency request earlier Tuesday.
"Where, as here, death is imminent, it is hard to imagine more critical and exigent circumstances," Gibbs said in the appeal, filed electronically with the court. "Terri is fading quickly and her parents reasonably fear that her death is imminent."

Why didn't you?
I have thought much the same thing if nobody comes to her rescue. Not just the left, but perhaps much more. We know that this will all end to glorify God, we just don't know how. And exposing sin and fools for what it is and who they are does glorify God. Then we are all without excuse as the consequences are fully exposed to who or what you put your faith in. Man's ways, or God's ways
It would be a very flagrant violation of the separation of powers and would easily be an impeachable offense. Those men have done everything they can.
The Lord will Not be Mocked. Still, it is our obligation to fight for our own for as long as we can. Amen. Even if only with our attitude and commitment.
Symbolic.
Some people may not like this, but at this point I would almost rather she died soon, so as not to suffer through this starvation any longer. This stalling just makes it all the worse.
Because they're liberals using a lovely double entendre.
Jeff, such an EXCELLENT post. Thank you.
Because I'm 74 years old and in Chicago
I suppose, I'm looking at this from what I've gathered about the parents. They haven't come across as folks who want any further dealings with this pos, and I don't think money would be an exception to these feelings. They want him out of their lives.
As for him suing again for wrongful death, wouldn' there be a statute of limitations?
I know all this sounds naive, but I'm not. To me it's a pretty simple matter. The courts have decided that her "husband" has the only say in this and that her parents have none.
This country is sliding down the slippery slope of state and judicially approved euthanasia. Where if ever, will it stop? If I get incapacitated in a car wreck, do I automatically garner a death sentence even if my family wants to care for me?
Thanks for the insightful responses.
If I was the immediate family, I would make an attempt to give Terri some food or water orally...or get arrested in the process.
This will clarify for everyone that this is legally sanctioned starvation and death rather than passively allowing someone to die.

They've been looking for ways to ration health care for some time. Don't expect any when you retire. Not unless you can pay full freight.
Well, if you can't get impeached for hindering an investigation and federal perjury, why should Bush be worried about doing something to save a life. Who'd impeach him for that? I mean, what kind of disgusting, death-oriented, money-grubbing POS, would hold that against him?
It's so horrible.
I hope a few God fearing Republicans USE that in their ads durign re-election or to get elected.
It's over due ... take the gloves OFF. Tell it like it is.
>I cannot help but think she is going to be something like a martyr<
No matter if she lives or dies, Terri's plight has alerted many people of the importance of putting in writing, that under no circumstances do they want to be starved to death simply because they may have fallen into an incapacitated, but not terminal, state.
May God bless her.
If a 100 people or 1000 people did the same.
