Schiavo 'fading quickly,' parents tell court

TAMPA, Fla. - Warning that Terri Schiavo is "fading quickly," her parents begged a federal appeals court Tuesday to order the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube reinserted while they pursue claims that her rights are being violated.

David Gibbs III, attorney for parents Bob and Mary Schindler, told the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta that their 41-year-old daughter might die before they get a chance to fully argue their case. The appeal came after a federal judge in Tampa rejected the parents' emergency request earlier Tuesday.

"Where, as here, death is imminent, it is hard to imagine more critical and exigent circumstances," Gibbs said in the appeal, filed electronically with the court. "Terri is fading quickly and her parents reasonably fear that her death is imminent."

Neither Bush has any balls.

If they did, there would be state or federal marshalls on the site of the hospice, taking control of Terri and ensuring her well being.

Ironic that Terri's State Murder is being played out during Holy Week. Pontius Pilate also comes to mind to those in power who know that Terri is being murdered and our saying, “Well we tried”. President Brush should issue an Executive Order to save Terri NOW.

"There are no coincidences..."

Agree. Well, statistically there are coincidences, called spurious correlations; but in real life with small sample sizes, as in a sample size of one . . . no, it is not "mere chance".

It also comes to mind that the Pope is also suffering again, is worse again, at the same time.

I read an article about someone who prayed for healing for a loved one, and touched the Pope. The Pope visibly responded -- he winced. IOW, he could feel physical pain, because His Holiness was invoked to help another. Yet, as his response shows, he did it willingly. The supplicant noticed the Pope's wince, and made a sort of apology -- you could tell, couldn't you? The Pope acknowledged that he did indeed -- part of the job . . .

Here is the MUST READ deposition of Nurse Carla Iyer, found and posted by lanceman(as a separate thread, which was deleted with the suggestion to post it on an existing thread).

She took care of Terri at one of the convalescent homes.

The nurse testifies that Michael didn't want anything done for Terri, including medically necessary treatments, such as giving her antibiotics, that Terri actually used to speak, felt pain, and indicated when she was in pain, that MS acted happy, when Terri got ill and made statements, like "when is the b&^ch going to die"

It's an absolute MUST READ. Thanks lanceman for finding and posting it.

I can imagine the orgasms of joy from the Death Cultists when she dies.

Actually, I predict waves of turgid emotion from the toilet-drinkers. Imagine a Wellstone moment. Lefties are good for turgid displays coupled with hand-wringing.

Disgusting critters....a pox on them all!

Who are these Police and for whom do they work??

Judges HAVE no armies, nor police forces.

Police are NOT required to follow such obscene orders. If enough of them refused -- and it wouldn't take many -- the judge's "orders" would be clearly exposed for what they are -- murderous orders, that NO one need obey . . .

Under Clinton, the Military was ORDERED (by executive order) to begin abortions in military hospitals. It's only fair, you know, that our service persons have "equal access"; under all other administrations, military "women" wanting this "service" had to go off post, and pay for it.

Well, the military docs REFUSED to do abortions! In strength and unity, they DEFIED an ILLEGAL order, on grounds of conscience.

WHO are these police who would enforce such a thing -- they would arrest the same person who did NOT give food and water to an animal.

What used to be a silent agreement, or at least a private discussion between doctors and the family has been codified into law,...

Yes, but doesn't this law require that the patient direct his or her continued or discontinued care?

I'm sorry, again, for seeming obtuse, but doesn't the lack of direction from the individual, in this case Terri, mean there is no direction except that that comes from the court?

And, what, I ask again, gives the court the right to approve her death rather than uphold her right to life?

"Having eyes they see not, and having ears they hear not." They have become deprived reprobates ("doing what is right in their own eyes") and the judgment of God is what awaits them at death.

"Sit by and let this happen Jeb Bush and George Bush - lets see what history will say of you, you have the power to stop this but do nothing - shame."

Shame on them, indeed, and the rest of the politicos.

Since we can no longer trust them, now only a massive active showing of the people at the hospice can save Terri.

The politicians and the parties cannot be trusted. They've been lulling and stalling us until it was too late. Today may already be too late as hours and not days are of the essence now. We should stop seeking a political solution to a human issue. You can't solve a problem with the same minds that created the problem in the first place.

There are times when action must be let loose from its bounds. This is one of those times.

God bless Terri and her loving parents and siblings. And God bless those who fought to save her life.

But, the struggle must go on...

We also need to pray for the remove liberal judges out of the court system. We all need to take control, enough of the liberal agenda. Life is precious, enough is enough!
We need to liberate this country of liberal JUDGES, SENATORS, GOVERNORS AND POLITICIANS WHO THINK THEY CAN SPEAK FOR US! Please write to your senators, congressmen, governors and let them know that WE ARE IN CONTROL NOT THEM!
Today is Teri....who is next????????

Am I the only one "creeped" out about this happening during the Easter season ?

The parallel about a life being extinguished during this time of the year for no apparent reason is sending a chill through my bones.

He has the power to issue executive orders.

Moreover, he's the commander in chief of the armies.

I'm just amazed that you couldn't figure this out. Either that, or political correctness has tied your tongue. No, no, no, don't tell me about the laws.

Continuing to pray for our Terri.

Are there no folks ready to break their way in (along with someone medically knowledgeable enough to start an IV). Do you really think the police are going to fire on someone? I mean we need a few good big men to muscle their way in.

This is a brutal barbaric execution of an innocent human being.

Animals are treated better.

Convicted murderers are treated better.

This puts a stain on this country.

What in the world is taking the 11th Circuit so long to render an opinion here?

At the very least, they (I believe) are required by the law Congress passed this weekend to being feeding Terri again, while they deliberate.

The lack of alacrity here astounds me. The woman's life hangs in the balance, and the politicians and "judges" (and I use the term VERY loosely) debate and waste time. One truly has to wonder if it's intentional, hoping she'll die and remove this little "problem" from their schedules.

At least feed the poor woman while the debate rages.

"I mean we need a few good big men to muscle their way in."

Unfortunately, "All it takes for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing".

I heard today that all other patients at the hospice (even if they have a no food or drink order) get their mouths swabbed with a cold rag. They will only do Terry's with a DRY Q-tip. I wouldn't do that to a dog. And noone had better tell me it was their "orders" or their job. I have quit jobs for a lot less than this insanity!

As an attorney, I am part of the American "justice system".

It is wretched and wicked, putting an innocent person to death in a barbaric fashion, and I am ashamed to be part of it.
