I was a nervous wreck last night and I am even more so now. What the heck is wrong with these judges???? I am sick to my stomach over this!
This is way worse than the election. I am glad it is out of Florida. I am sorry, but what a cesspool pit of hell that State is.
It's not what's wrong with the judges, areafiftyone, they would ask, "What's wrong with you, not being on board the euthanasia train, pulling out of Pinellas Park, FL?" The American people, by polls, support the Democrat minority in Congress on killing poor Terri.
I think every normal person is sick to their stomachs over this - So clearly good vs. evil.
This has only been to court twenty-one times with sixteen different judges. Can't one of them get it right?
Me too. Ever since Friday I've been half sick. It just gets worse every day. And there's no way I can try to just ignore the situation. It's like mass torture is taking place.
My question: Can the 3 judges on this court order that food and water tubes be re-inserted as the appeals process winds it's way up to the Supreme Court, as it most surely will.
Why? Once this case got to fed court and the judge didn't move quickly to have the feeding tube reinserted (in the wee hours on 21st)... it was obvious he never had any intention of reinserting the feeding tube. It was obvious he was dragging his feet hoping she'd die before the 11th circuit could get the case. He already had his mind made up that's the reason for the 3PM hearing late afternoon....the hearing was ONLY FOR SHOW...nothing else....
The problem is that both Bushs left this in the hands of the judges. In some ways that is criminal negligence. Florida had a proposal to outlaw starvation and dehydration in the absence of a living will. That would have done the trick but Jeb could not push it through. The Bushs are living the old gag about throwing a ten foot rope to a drowning person 15 feet away from the boat and saying "but I met them more than half way"
It's becoming clear that this is a classic case of a horrendous conflict between LEGALITY & MORALITY.
LEGALITY places custodial rights for the wife with her husband; while MORALITY says her parents should take care of her. Judges FEAR tackling this moral question because it requires the wisdom of SOLOMON, and they're just mechanical clerks who just follow procedures. The don't want to go down this road because for precedence sake, how do you determine who loves the victim MOST? Especially if there's $$?
To furthur complicate this case there might be a pile of $$ at stake with custodial rights, which everyone denies being interested in.
How long will this take?? God I pray for her
So am I. Just imagine how Terri's family is feeling right now. I would have to be sedated if I were her mother. Either that, or I would have been arrested because I would have tried to give her water.
