Only one judge has determined the 'facts' of this case, and that is Judge Greer in Clearwater. The rest only look to see whether the law was followed. No other court has looked at the 'facts'. NONE! An important and telling point.
The whole purpose behind the private bill was to give Terri Schiavo and her parents a fresh look and hearing in federal court. Although the federal judge was instructed by the law not to use or defer to Greer's prior determination, it appears he has done just that, commenting in his decision that the matter has already been looked at in state court.

However, the Florida judicial system is corrupt and/or inept. Please, vote for good judges next election. Don't keep rubberstamping the same ol' same ol's.

The disturbing thing is, it isn't all DU-ers who are clamoring for Terri Schaivo's torture-murder. There is a sizable contingent right here at Free Republic that wants her faithless, doublecrossing husband to have free license to kill her too. I fear it is just a minority of Americans who have not bought into liberalism's culture of death and decay. The trend may irreversible. Peter Singer's ghastly new world of human utilitarianism appears to be dawning in America.
You're right about all of this and aside from the tragedy of Terri Schiavo, the larger tragedy is that the people clamoring for Terri's death are dragging society down the road into a culture of death no less heinous than that trod by the Nazis and their infamous T-4 "euthanasia" program. For once a society decides that death is preferable to life, and begins to use that as a pretext for killing those deemed "unworthy" or "undesirable" of "inconvenient" (read expensive), then it is only a few short, slippery steps to the point of taking "the right to die" to mean "the obligation to die".
Well, to those on FR and elsewhere who are salivating and gleeful over the prospect of dancing on Terri's grave and wallowing in her innocent blood, all I can say is, be careful what you wish for, because you might get it. Today the bell tolls for Terri Schiavo, tomorrow it tolls for thee and thy loved ones. And when you feel the shroud of death descending upon you after taking the needle against your will, may your final thought not be "Why me?" so much as "What have I done?"

If she lives till then.
Well I've done my best to document, if for nothing else but posterity, the saga of Terri Schiavo.
Including a detailed timeline that I found quite interesting.

Excellent post Jeff you got right to the point.
Rush did a great job yesterday on pointing out all the deviations in this case from a standard right to die situation that the rats so revere. The mere fact that Terri was being rehabed years ago and Michael cut the funding, had it stopped after Terri's had measurably success should be evidence enough of foul play. But no one wants to listen to common sense or a persons right to life.I just don't get it.

This is sickening.
No doubt the business of Hospice is death but death is not warrranted in Terri's case. I don't give a *hit what these Pontious Pilate's say. They're WRONG. And they should be ashamed of themselves. This is soo hideous.

I agree with how you feel about this. I too am sick at heart. But we are not called to curse those who are against Him, for vengance is up to God, not us. Many times in scripture we are commanded not to curse. So I don't think God will forgive you for saying it, unless you first realize that is not what He commands us to do. Instead, we are to pray for these people, that they see God and realize what they are doing so very wrong.
Regardless of the outcome, and if they continue in this vile act, those in Christ MUST remember that God is sovereign and He is in control and this will ultimately work to glorify Him although it may not be the way we want it to. But His ways are higher than ours, His thoughts higher than ours. That is our hope, that is our peace.
Very nice comments, which I agree with. BUT, God also demands that we OPPOSE EVIL at every turn. He does not want us to sit back and be helpless in the face of EVIL.

Well, that is good news, but how long will it take for it to be heard or a decision to take place? I've read on another thread the 11th circuit was to hear it immediately - 9 AM - which was 48 minutes ago.

I just finished reading Judge Whittmore's decision. This decision is very well-researched and writtenall 13 pages of it.
I do not in anyway, like the outcome, but I cannot fault the man for the argument he presents. It deals with arguments made on both sides of the issue rather even-handedly, and is extremely well supported.

Good. Does that mean when they affirm the trial judge, Freepers will come to grips with this story? If she dies, I'll hope to God that Schaivo was telling the truth.
And if evidence comes to light that he wasn't, I'll hope that he and anyone who aided and abetted him is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I was a nervous wreck last nightWhy? Once this case got to fed court and the judge didn't move quickly to have the feeding tube reinserted (in the wee hours on 21st)... it was obvious he never had any intention of reinserting the feeding tube. It was obvious he was dragging his feet hoping she'd die before the 11th circuit could get the case. He already had his mind made up that's the reason for the 3PM hearing late afternoon....the hearing was ONLY FOR SHOW...nothing else....

Of course - liberals are in favor of euthanasia, but they don't want their fingerprints on this one. They want to make it look "natural" and so condition the sheeple to accepting the court ordered murder of their loved ones by more direct menthods down the road. A little here and a little there and we will get death on demand. Stay tuned.
