I pray she lives, her parents are given custody over her, lovingly nurse her back to health and with proper therapy get her to the place where she say in her own voice, "Michael tried to kill me." This is, I believe, his greatest fear."

"Terri died 15 years ago," he said, referring to her collapse in 1990 that cut off oxygen to her brain, leaving her seriously brain injured and unable to talk.

That is not what Schiavo told the malpractice jury 13 years ago. At that time, he told them she was "highly responsive" and "curable" with "advanced rehabilitation" (actual quotes from his testimony). After convincing the jury she was quite alive and CURABLE, and would likely live another 41 years, the jury awarded Schiavo $1.2 million. Schiavo has used this award to build a new life with his common law wife and their 2 children. Even a judge as braindead as Napolitano can see two obvious reasons why Schiavo's custody of his former wife can and must be terminated:

(1) Fraud - Schiavo defrauded the malpractice jury by asserting (with 2 full years of observation of Terri) that she was "highly responsive" and "curable". and, once he had secured an extremely large award, terminated the care the jury had directed. Either he must return the entire $1.2 million award, or he must be charged with fraud. Either way his actions warrant termination of custody rights.
(2) Conflict of Interest - Under florida law, a spouse's custody rights must be terminated if it can be demonstrated that s/he has a "conflict of interest" regarding the well-being of the person under custodial care. In 1995, contrary to his promises to the jury that he would honor his marriage vows, Mr. Schiavo began living with another woman, by whom he has conceived two children out-of-wedlock. He calls this woman his 'fiancee', and is in fact of law his "common law" wife. Mr Schiavo thus has had assumable interest for over 10 years to end his former wife Terri's life so as to be free to marry his common-law wife and render his new children legitimate. This is an obvious and certain "conflict of interest" which--under Florida law--should compel any judge with authority over the matter to terminate Schiavo's custody forthwith. The Federal judge ought to do this posthaste. Further, that Judge Greer failed to do so is grounds for his impeachment and dismissal.

Being of The Blood, naturally you [and I] would tend to see some sort of "glamour" at work here.
I seriously doubt that what we *see* is anything at all like what the reality is.
Part of me supposes a sort of spiritual warfare, the other part suspects political chicanery...although the two are hardly inseparable, these days...and times.

I'm praying for a miracle. Perhaps president Bush will accept Schiavo's offer and visit bearing an executive order mandating the reinsertion of the feeding tube...

It is Holy Week after all...

Potassium

HYPOKALEMIA

Severe dehydration, aldosteronism, Cushing's syndrome, kidney disease, long-term diuretic therapy, certain penicillins, laxative abuse, congestive heart failure, and adrenal gland impairments can all cause depletion of potassium levels in the bloodstream. A substance known as glycyrrhetinic acid, which is found in licorice and chewing tobacco, can also deplete potassium serum levels. Symptoms of hypokalemia include:

weakness

paralysis

increased urination

irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia)

orthostatic hypotension

muscle pain

tetany

The prospect that foul play may have led to Terri's collapse and ensuing heart stoppage was enhanced when a bone scan was recently found. This scan, taken 53 weeks after Terri's collapse revealed that Terri had fractured ribs, damage to her pelvic area, LI vertebrae, spine, both knees and both ankles. It also revealed that Terri had suffered a broken femur and a broken back. Three doctors concluded that Terri had endured trauma of some sort. The radiologist responsible for the scan plainly stated: "This patient has a history of trauma".

How on earth did Michael Schiavo avoid scrutiny way back then, and THEN get named as Terri's legal guardian?? It just doesn't add up.

...a 43 percent error rate in PVS diagnoses over a five-year period.

Oh.

You guys are convicting schiavo without any evidence. Everything has been hearsay. These threads on thi site and other sites kinda reminds me of the experiment back in school where the teacher would tell the student in the first seat a message and by the time it got to the back the message was completely different.

Some of you are convicting schiavo without any evidence whatsoever. Example: Some say he was a nurse when his wife was unconsious and later it was proven he was a nurse later.

This hi-tech lynching of Mike schiavo makes ABC's work of "convicting" Richard Jewell pale in comparison.

See, that's part of it though. I don't like the idea of accussing anyone of conspiracy. It seems ridiculous to me on a fundamental level. How hard would it be to keep one person's mouth shut if it's working on a national level?

But this whole thing... it REEKS!

Something vile about how it is. The nature of it. How it convinces otherwise good people. "Right to Die" is a false Christ as prophosied in the Bible!

This holds for the 33 physicians who recently signed affidavits stating she is minimally conscious "or better," as opposed to being PVS.

Huh.

It doesn't add up the same way as Martha can be under house arrest while the angel Jessica met with foul play by the perpetrator next door, free to prey? Hello, McFly!??

MedBlog Doc debunks and questions Terri's CT scan. Other docs comment on other problems with it. Great read!

"I'm not sure we can get it done here in Florida," Martinez quoted (Gov.) Bush as saying just after a new Schiavo measure stalled in the Florida Legislature. "Do whatever you can federally."

The Governor of the State has found no relief and lost confidence in the Legislature and Judiciary and has called in the Feds. It can't now be said that the Feds have no business there.

The Executive Branch wields the authority of enforcement, security and investigation, Congressional investigations aside. Congress should step aside and let the President handle this.

Time for Federal Marshals and agents in black shiny FBI shoes.

Nobody's convicting anybody.
Does someone here have Michael in custody?
Anybody here got judge's robes on or a gallows being built?
These are attempts to get to the bottom of the truth about -what- caused an otherwise healthy person to up and collapse for no "apparent" reason.
[and to question why he let her lay there for so long after the collapse, doing -nothing-]
Questions have not and -are- not being asked, much less answered.

Does this make you feel better?
*If* Michael is completely innocent of any wrongdoing, may God forgive me for ever thinking it so.

[but my gut, the evidence and how things have been "handled" thus far compels me to suspect otherwise]

I [and most others] merely want the possibility investigated.
