Q Can you go over what went on last night, in terms of the President signing the bill and how it went down?
MR. McCLELLAN, WHITE HOUSE: Sure. I guess the bill -- the House passed it shortly after midnight, and then the President signed it at 1:11 a.m., in the morning. The Staff Secretary, Brett Kavanaugh, walked the legislation over to the residence for the President to sign. He came outside his bedroom and signed it in the residence.
Q Had he been asleep?
MR. McCLELLAN: Yes, he was woken up after it was passed, when it was ready to be signed.
Q I heard you describe it earlier, he came out of his bedroom and literally signed it standing up in the hall; is that how it went/
MR. McCLELLAN: That's correct, yes. He was just standing in the hall in the residence an signed the legislation then.
Q Was he wearing --
Q Is it safe to assume he wasn't wearing a suit and tie at the time? (Laughter.)
MR. McCLELLAN: I'm not going into that much detail. Yes, he cleaned up, put on his suit -- (laughter.)
END
Thanks GOD, for a real President.
'Can we rename this now practically worthless site "shiavorepublic"?'
HUH???
Idiot
While I wouldn't resort to calling it a worthless site yet, I believe the gentleman was referring to the fact that for the past week, there has been a large number of threads on FreeRepublic dealing with Terri Schiavo.
Maybe you would prefer DU?
Granted, we've done a lot of talking about the Schiavo case, but the truth is that she's the elephant's nose under the tent. Liberals want death on demand, nothing less. Has to be stopped somehow.
Senators Kennedy, Clinton, Schumer, Lautenberg, Feinstein do not get up in the night, sign no bill, remain asleep. Film at eleven.
Sweet, my very first deleted post. Seemed pretty harmless to me.
Ping Thank you
That wouldn't be a bad idea, have a dedicated forum for Schiavo.. It really is overcrowding the news.
Liberals also want the courts to have the last word on everything. That concept is itself a contradiction of the Founder's intent. T. Jefferson wrote eloquently on that subject.
Well, since little else newsworthy appears to be happening, and a woman is dying cruelly by the hour, how about we talk about the CURRENT NEWS? Eh?
THE 1990s VERSION
Not enough news? A woman with fewer rights than that scum Couhey who admitted to killing Jessica Lunsford, is not represented by counsel, her husband has many reasons to want her dead, her family (mother, father , sister, brother) pleading with the world to intervene...
Shakespeare couldn't have written this. And you're bored? Want to get back to talking about taxes?
One thing I've learned in the past week on FR--there's more to being a conservative than taxes.
As opposed to 1:11 a.m. in the afternoon?
'That's all anybody here wants to talk about. How about a separate section of the site so that more of us can talk about NEWS without wading through pages of Shiavo talk?'
Whenever there is an important story happening, there are numerous threads on the same subject. It is possible to browse the site without 'wading through pages of Shiavo talk' & it doesn't take much effort. Obviously, the owner of this site has no problem with all of the Shaivo threads, or they would be pulled. Last time I checked, this story was NEWS.
She died 15 years ago.
