As Per Fox News
Kindly provide the factual basis for your assertion. Single word naysaying is rather childish.
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Selective amnesia will run rampant. It will be like the MSM and Kerry suddenly discovering their 'support' for Reagan at his funeral after decades of trashing the man.
LOL! I get lost easily!
Seen this??? Read last paragraph, last sentence. Thoughts?

Terri's death wish or Michael's?

I just heard on news (station carrying Art Bell locally in Atlanta) that a Fed. judge is waiting up to get notice and is going to have ambulance remove Terri from hospice to hospital as soon as he gets it. Hope that is correct info!
Even people in my own VERY conservative, confessional church were unaware that Terri is no vegetable! Terri is more than worth it though, and so are every one of us.
I think you're worrying too much about the federal judges. Please see post #280. Terri will get a fair hearing in federal court.
What's wrong with it? It happens all the time. Indeed, Senator John F. Kerry himself was the sponsor of S.423 in the 99th Congress which applied to one person and one person only:
S. 423BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN CONGRESS ASSEMBLED, That, notwithstanding section 212(a)(23) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, Kil Joon Yu Callahan may be issued a visa and admitted to the United States for permanent residence if she is found to be otherwise admissible under the provisions of the Act.
Sec. 2. The foregoing exemption shall apply only to grounds for exclusion of which the Department of State or Department of Justice had knowledge prior to the enactment of this Act.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Thank God the news is spreading....
All I could come with was a delaying tactic(ghoulish) or to impress a constituency(self serving).
"I don't like it to be seen as an exclusively religious matter."
I may not be as educated as you are, and, in fact, I don't think I am. But, if you read between the lines some of the comments made by the army of the culture of death, you'll find out that it is them that are making this a religious matter. At times they're so blatantly to the point as to make declarative statemets that are hard to later refute or deny. There is a religious war going on in our beloved country that our forefathers build from the wilderness, and the ultimate intent is the derision, denigration, and dilution, of our Christian way of life and replacing it with a third world alien culture that speaks a different language or languages, that imports different values and that it is often loyal to a different country.
The signs as to where we're are headed are all too clear and written on every American wall for all to see, but only if they open their eyes to it.
Sorry for being slightly off topic.
Bill of Attainder-Definition: A legislative act that singles out an individual or group for punishment without a trial.
Whom is this bill meant to punish without a trial? The only part of this definition that has anything to do with this case is that it addresses a particular person. That's nothing new. I suspect many of us are disappointed in the House bill not being agreed to by the Senate, but time is of the essence and we'll have to take what we can get and pray that the next step will be what's best for Terri.
"I think you're worrying too much about the federal judges. Please see post #280. Terri will get a fair hearing in federal court."
You may be right. But ultimately, I think the end result is going to be the same, because the law passed by Congress tonite is unconstitutional, and will be shot down. Plus the federal courts are going to backup the FL state courts. They will not rule against all of the decisions on many court levels that have been made in the past. At some point the Federal Courts will affirm the decisions of the FL courts, and then we will once again go through the whole deathwatch process. What's to say.
As I said earlier, I believe people who want to see teri die are simply comparing her situation to some personal experience of their own (like having an elderly relative w/ alzheimers), and they feel a certain kind of guilt, but do not realize that each case is very different from one another. I had 2 relatives who were dying of alzheimers and the day they each died was a relief to the family, b/c we knew that was all they had left in them. However, we made sure they were as comfortable as possible in their final days, and even now I know the difference between their situations and Teri's.

StraightUpWithSherri is on the scene.
Terri will be taken to the hospital. I'm posting for Sherri who is on the site, and I'm tired!

Thanks!
No, it's a law that applies to two people, Terri's parents. It gives either or both of them the right to be heard in a federal court on the issue at hand.
...And by the way, the Constitution gives *infinite* authority to Congress upon what matters federal courts may hear.
Don't mind Flaglady..she's just mad that Terri isn't dead yet.
"...And by the way, the Constitution gives *infinite* authority to Congress upon what matters federal courts may hear."
Could you be more specific as to which part of the Constitution does this? Article #, for example? There's a bunch of people I could shut up very quickly if you could provide this for me.
