Continuation of Terri Schiavo daily March threads. Due to overwhelming participation we reached over 5000 posts in three days time!
I haven't heard anything about the 11th not taking the case. I am just in shock. Honestly I fear it is to late for the Florida Congress to get involved and try and pass something for Terri. What needs to happen is the 11th to get the case today and issue a stay for Terri or Jeb needs to get her into protective custody now! My God someone help this poor girl!
Thank you. I'm beginning to feel like I'm losing it.
He is nearly always in the minority, Saundra. A minority cannot save Terri no matter if it desperately wanted to. The Courts as a whole are out of control and are ruling over everything and everyone. The Congress and the Executives - Jeb, the President - seem incapable of taking them on. This is the way Democrats of the left are taking control of America. Poor Terri. What a fighter and a hero she is, to me. Likewise her noble family.
Governor Bush,
You have the opportunity to be a leader used by God, and even rise above your brother for the first time. YOU can rescue Terri, by whatever means.
Life is more important than the "type" of government. So what if you break some existing law, but a life is saved.
Would you rather "be right in the eyes of the State" but not in the eyes of God? How does that differ from atheistic Communism?
Every president since Washington has written executive orders for a number of different things. Presidents are given this latitude within the Constitution!

CONTACT THE PRESIDENT!!!
We have been told the White House number leads to a disconnection. Have you tried it?
I am going to continue to pray today friends...But it's sad.
It tells us a few key things:
1) people have been trained across America to think that the brain damage equals death. And therefore, letting the body go is a good thing.
2) that the laws in too states don't protect people unless they have a living will - in other words, there's no presumption for life.
3) severely handicapped people are at risk in our society.
Everything MS did was legal as were the rulings he received, according to multiple judicial reviews. This means that Florida has law that can be manipulated this way.
Bad law = bad justice.
Bad legal assumptions by the lawyers = bad justice.
Between the way the law is written and the judicial activism, we get situations like Terri's, God bless her.
Terri gave us a face to what was happening.
WE have to hold that face to our hearts and in our memories, and in our prayers. It should shape the choices we make and the actions we take for the rest of our lives.
Yes, last year hino threw a hissy fit over last rites. He called in the LE to arrest the priest and threatened to sue the church if she was given last rites. You see, if she swallowed the wine and host.... well, his case goes out the window. FYI, Terri was eating and swallowing up until one day hino decided to insert the feeding tube for, um, convenience.
The comment phone number I gave to contact the president DOES work, but they take calls between 9 and 5. I'm encouraging everyone here to contact the president via email or by calling. Here's the info again:
The president can write an executive order to get Terri into a hospital immediately. It is not breaking any law to do so. The judge can still take time to ruminate over this case. This action would not interfere with the judge. And since Greer already flaunted a Congressional subpoena his ruling is highly questionable.
Executive orders are lawful. They've been written by presidents ever since Washington on a number of different issues.
Contacting the president and ask him to write an executive order immediately. If you cannot reach him, then contact your state senators and representatives.

That is exactly how this judge handled it...he reviewed everything to see if HE thought there were grounds to start a de Novo procedure, and he ruled that there wasn't. And wasted a precious 24 hours doing it.
There's nothing that shows Judge Wittemore that Terri can win the case, so he doesn't grant it. Poof.
The judge says (according to the professor in the beard on Fox right now) that her religious rights weren't violated by the state but by her husband and the facility. AT LEAST SOMEBODY ACKNOWLEDGES THIS!!!
What about her God-given right to life, which is guaranteed by the constitution?
Praying for Terri and her family. May God bless this young woman and her family. And may each and every person that played a part in this unjustice to Terri rot in Hell.
Last night on Greta's program, three of Terri's old friends said that Terri herself and her family are "devout Catholics". DEVOUT! The Vatican pleaded for Terri's life to be spared and yet this fed judge and judge greer have crapped all over the Catholic faith. Amazing. I'm not a Catholic but I sure appreciate what the Vatican tried to do to help Terri to survive.

You hit the nail on the head and this is precisely the reason the president CAN take action!
The president can write an executive order to get Terri into a hospital immediately. It is not breaking any law to do so. The judge can still take time to ruminate over this case. It is like he did it on purpose - just wasting time hoping she would die. I can't believe the evil that exsists in our court system and in our Country.
I lost confidence with the court system years ago and have seen nothing to change my mind recently. I was a CPS worker and can't tell you how many times the judges didn't listen to a word I or the community said. One gave an abused toddler to a known child molester despite the whole community turning out to take a stand against it. Another, on a whim, threw the father in jail for 6 months when all I wanted was to set up visitation - kinda defeated the point, huh. Another accepted outright lies from people claiming to have met the child before the child was even born. Mindboggling.
Please also call Jeb Bush: 1-850-488-4441!!!!!!!!
This court system is going to persecute more and more as time goes on - while the executive and legislative branches look on wringing their hands.
This is wrong!
The president CAN write an executive order in this case. He has the constitutional green light to do so.
The question is: Why hasn't he?
