Colmes is exactly why I quit watching Hannity and Colmes quite some time ago.

The "evidence" that Terri would want to be starved and dehydrated to death is so sketchy (in light of what's at stake), that how Terri's parents would act if Terri had left a living will is not relevant. Also not relevant are hypotheticals such as "if Terri had gangrene" or "If Terri were on a ventilator". These things aren't the case, so it doesn't matter. Even if Michael Schiavo is to be believed, Terri made an off-hand remark about not wanting to be kept alive by a ventilator and she made this remark when she had no expectation said remark would determine her own fate. This is the justification for starving and dehydrating Terri to death? What does anyone think Terri would have said if asked what she'd want to happen in light of her parents' love and suffering over the last fifteen years? Are we supposed to believe Terri would say, "I regret my parents would feel bad watching me dehydrate to death, but my feelings come first?" Give me a break.

the scientologists have been here so long that people kind of avoid them unless they work at same employers as they do. They aren't any spookier than the Jehovah Witnesses who like to tell me on Saturdays that the world is coming to an end and they are against birthdays and holidays. The scientologists don't go door to door. I don't hang around their hotel or anything like that though. They do strange things and exercises.
I'll tell you this.... The Clearwater Bar Association which includes Greer hold luncheons at the Scientology Ft. Harrison Hotel. That's kind of incestuous imo.

"It is a horror to be kept artificially alive for so many years without ability to move or communicate."
Your sentence above contains THREE errors. Please excuse me while I correct them.
1. She's not being kept alive "artificially". Food and water are ordinary sustenance we all require from the first moment of our conception in our mother's womb until our natural death.
2. She moves all the time. Even when she's sleeping, like you and me.
3. She communicates with laughter, attempts to speak, looks towards visitors and smiles, and as Fr. Frank Pavone said after visiting her, "She talks with her eyes".
You were able to make three mistakes in a short sentence.
One wonders how many mistakes you might make if you wrote a whole book.

There's been a lot posted on Dr. Cranford over the months here. Hannity may need our information for tomorrow night.
I know there was one case that he testified that he said someone was permanently PVS that came out of it.

I appreciate your honesty but I feel that we should take care of our loved ones...we don't throw them away or hide them and keep them from having rehabilition. Terri has been hidden away, her money has been stolen and this is the third murder attempt on her life by her husband. Her husband should be behind bars for his abuse and neglect of his wife but instead, he found a Judge to carry out his wishes for state sanctioned murder and if this isn't bad enough, one of us or a loved one could be next. This is murder most foul.

I'm not saying non-profits are evil, but rather that I suspect many of the most evil hospices are "non-profits", in part because the term causes many people to let their guard down. Give it a rest. You obviously don't know what the hell you are talking about.

I didn't hear today that Terri was doing good or bad. That tells me that she's not doing good or they would have said so. Obviously, if you saw my post that David Gibbs said that she could be dead tomorrow should GET EVERYONE ON THE PHONE TOMORROW TO THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE THAT THEY BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER or Florida is going to be VIRTUAL TOAST.

"Michael is like an angel of death."
Better rephrase that to:
Michael IS an angel of death.

Thanks, iowamom and Deo volente. Glad y'all liked it. For some reason, I was not in a very solemn mood when I posted that.
Tonight I'm trying to get my old band back together one last time to record it. (We were once hired as the band for a stage production of Tommy, so we can do a decent Who.) I should know if it's a go in a few more days.

The family never acknowledged PVS - that is completely untrue. What happened was a dumb attorney accidentally stipulated to that early on. They are trying to correct the early mistake made by an attorney from years ago. Attorneys can correct the record. It should be the Schindler's fault that their first attorney made a boo boo.

(I fed Terri small mouthfuls of Jello, which she swallowed and enjoyed immensely" Cna H.Law 1997)
To: billbears
But that's my two cents. And I know I wouldn't want to make this decision because I can see Biblical principles on both sides and both sides of the family hurting in their own way If someone is on a ventilator and it is removed, and they survive, one can reasonably believe that's God's will. And if they die, that's God's will. But if someone removes the ventilator and follows that up by putting a pillow over the person's face to ensure they don't start breathing, that's not God's will.
If the parents were allowed to attempt to feed Terri orally and succeeded, that would be God's will. And one could argue that if they attempted to feed orally but Terri couldn't swallow, that would be God's will. But when all oral feeding is forbidden, that's Michael's will.

Thanks for the information on hydration, but I wouldn't dare read that. It would take me too far out of my "comfort zone." I had some hope that Terri would have had hydration by 6 a.m. Monday. Now I don't see it before 10 p.m. Tuesday, if then. And probably not
