This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they don’t want to be known as the party that killed Terri.

In this situation, I know that all honest Christians, regardless of the tenets of their belief, can see the face of the suffering Christ in Terri Schiavo. "I was thirsty and you gave me a drink" "I was hungry and you gave me food" - that popped into my mind a lot since I became aware of this case.

That's exactly the hoped-for outcome of this. The bill does not guarantee that the tube will be reinserted. The presumption is that a federal judge will order that while the case (either the law's constitutionality or the Schiavo suit) is determined.

Well I guess in the next election, we will not have to worry about obstruction from the Democrats. It is clear that we will probably have over 60 senators. I doubt that three ambos showing up 10 minutes prior to a vote, at a hospice, is usual. Heck, they let them die at hospice and the funeral homes pick up bodies in the morning. Hospice doesn't call ambulances.
