US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

I'm not surprised. Liberals would have laws on the books for dogs. Innocent disabled women? Nope. Send them to the gallows, deny them bread and water.

Notice who you call when you need something done...the "Hammer", Tom Delay. What a country we would have if just half the so-called "conservatives" had his brains and guts! And a "pair" below the waistline...

Against. But, the Florida Legislature had a chance to act on changing the law, which is where this ought to be legislated.
Instead, the Congress decides to completely ignore everything that's happened in Florida, and order a de novo review of all facts and figures.
This is a terrible precedent to set, especially in the area of family law.
Either we're a nation of laws, or we're not.
If some senior can't afford his life-saving medicine, and the state of Florida won't give it to him, is Congress going to order a pharmacy to provide it?

Re: Delay. Yeah, you know he's effective when the dems are trying so hard to get rid of him!

Sensenbrenner is saying that this bill will grant Terri a new TRIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This bill is VITAL!

"what happens if after the President signs the bill, a dem goes to a federal judge to get a restraining order until the constitutionality of this bill can be determined?"
If this has been asked, I haven't seen it. Hopefully, they won't be able to do this. Or if they do, at least put back the feeding tube until it can be decided. The thoughts of this bill going before a judge is frightening.

I don't think so. Voice vote is allowed only under unanimous consent, but Dems like Wexler objected. So we're going to know who voted which way (and who didn't show up.)

Ask a Dem: "When did promoting Democracy and Freedom in the World become a Bad Thing
Answer. Whenever a Republican advocates it. See to a Dim it isn't about the value of an idea, it is about who purposed the idea.

Wait until Rush, Sean and Michael start airing this compost on their radio shows tomorrow. There is going to be a whole lot of whoop as$$ going down on the talk shows! This is the way those DmonRATS will sound as the Devil flexes his pitchfork for a little meat tenderizing session.

Let's have some Federal Legislation on animal cruelty, too. Sorry, Sink, but the 14th Amendment only covers persons.

When you're standing before the Lord and he asks you why you let an innocent woman starve to death without making any effort to save her, just say it was all about "states rights." I'm sure he'll understand.

Congress can act to relieve a single person, they do it all the time and always have.Actually, Congress has provided relief to a single person one other time.
That relief was found unconstitutional.

In Florida, sustenance and hydration are considered extraordinary means of prolonging life. Are you advocating Terri's death or just debating against errant laws of man?
To: small voice in the wilderness
but I think I just heard the lowest the dems. have yet goneNever ever predict this. Its a fools bet.
