US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)

Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro

This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).

The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they don’t want to be known as the party that killed Terri.

This is American history happening before your eyes.

Agree with your points about the Dems finally finding the value of the "rule of law".

A 180 degree change from 1999 and the impeachment.

Mel Watt wondering about the waste of $4-5 million cost of this session."Where's your compassion?"And yours, Mel?

Mel Watt---your bulb is flickering ,pal.

Does the "D" after their name stand for "dumb"?

Watt is saying we have to have collective rights not individual rights.

He wants ALL to die if ALL can't live.

The MSNBC reporter said there will easily be enough votes. Apparently a significant number of Dems will vote for Terri, but they ain't talkin' now so as not to embarrass thier death-lovin' fellow Dems.

I like dropping my g's.

Well, Rep. dim-Watt, does this mean you'll vote to feed Terri or not?! If we're "pulling the plug" on the hungry, then you'll be compassionate for Terri...RIGHT??!

I guess that DimocRAT believes that when a judge turns a family case into a "cluster f###", then the family is just supposed to sit there and take it. Judicial tyranny is fine with the Dims as long as the judiciary does not overturn Roe v. Wade.

Notice who you call when you need something done...the "Hammer", Tom Delay. What a country we would have if just half the so-called "conservatives" had his brains and guts!

I just heard the audio on Drudge. The "veggie" is trying to speak. You can hear he responding.

Speaking of veggies, the Dems. are not doing a very good sales job. They stand there and read, or rant, but they are not selling their "side". Poor Dems, the best they could do as the point guy is a fudgesicle eater.

Personally, I don't care if she's a potted plant. If her parents want to care for her then let them. Her husband left her for another woman already anyway.

while we're overriding state legislatures and state courts.

You also have a problem with the Civil Rights Act of 1964? do you think state legislatures and state courts - in southern backwaters like Pinellas County - should still be allowed to legislate and enforce segregation? Congress violated their "rights" big-time when it forced them to stop. But that's the thing about the federal Constitution - - it can't be abridged by local politicians and judges; it puts human rights above "states' rights"

May not be enough votes, even if, nothing probably nothing will be done tonight, president asleep

I'm hard pressed to believe that the President would not want to be woken up when the bill's ready, regardless of the hour.
