US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

It all depends on whose ox is being gored, or whose opinion you like as versus don't like. Not a good way to run a country.
Oh instead we should allow unelected Judges impose their emotional whimsy on us? The "right" way to run a country is to impose a Judicial Aristocracy to make the "right" decisions no matter what the people's will is? You seem to forget your history Dear Lady. The whole reason we fought our Revolution was to throw OUT this sort of Government by our "betters".

When principle dovetails with policy and politics -- and the right thing is done in the end -- it is not a vice. Don't be so naive? You, sir. Don't be so cynical. I am cynical. If the Republicans really cared about TS, this would have been done six weeks ago, or two months ago.
Tom DeLay waited until zero hour, with maximum media exposure, to trot out this bill.

Yes, quite a bit of democratic grandstanding and really with no substance.

Since I was a child I have heard my family complain about the Levins...Carl and Sander. How sad so many of those family members have passed and the Levin's remain to irritate me.

I admire Sensenbrenner. He knows what he is talking about regarding this case and these bills. I am sorry the Senate didn't pass the House version of the bill for so many reasons, not the least of which Terri would not be in jeopardy right now and it was a stronger bill.

I hope the Senior Citizens are watching this. I also hope that the baby boomers that are next in line are watching this also because if the Democrat Party and their judicial system continues to have their way, we will not have to worry about Social Security because we will not live long enough to collect it. Beware we are next.....

Capuano--so I'm supposed to stay out of your and your wife's lives? What if you were beating your wife? What if your wife threatened to kill you? Oh no--can't step in. It's your lives and I have nothing to do with it.
