US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)

Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro

This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).

The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they don’t want to be known as the party that killed Terri.

This is American history happening before your eyes.

"The judicial brach was never supposed to be superior to the other branches of giv't."

Then I guess no decisions will ever be final, as the executive, judicial, and legislative branches would be forever pulling the rug (decisions-wise) out from under each other at whim. There would be no final arbiter. I'll bet you liked it when the U.S. Supreme Court (the final arbiter) decided in favor of Bush (by stopping the ballot count in FL) over Gore. That was one court decision that made you happy, I'm sure. It all depends on whose ox is being gored, or whose opinion you like as versus don't like. Not a good way to run a country.

Kate Adamson. And she is NOT the only one.

There was a man (sorry, name forgotten) who recently did come back from a 20 year coma.

I am just coming from a view that nobody can give a case of someone coming out of such a state after a couple of years let alone 15+

You must be illiterate. Folks have been giving you examples all night.

Oh, yeah, you're right. Nazi Germany had a solution for these kinds of "inconveniences"...

This poster reads: "This person suffering from hereditary defects costs the people 60,000 Reichmarks during his lifetime. People, that is your money. Read 'New People (Neues Volk)' Magazine!"

The Democrats are the new NATIONAL SOCIALISTS. Just listen to their arguments!

The Republicans have decided to screw politics and to fight for the life of an innocent woman.

Surely you're not this naive.

I know you did not direct this at me, but lemme answer. Will Republicans benefit politically with their pro-life base for their heroic and passionate stance on this issue? Undoubtedly. Does that make their fight for Terri tainted? No.

When principle dovetails with policy and politics -- and the right thing is done in the end -- it is not a vice. Don't be so naive? You, sir. Don't be so cynical.

Michael Capuano of Massachusetts bloviating now.

"Stay out of my family!!!! " Nice soundbite, but totally irrelevant.

The water in Massachusetts is as bad as the water in Florida.

"In Florida, sustenance and hydration are considered extraordinary means of prolonging life."

WOW, food and water, extraordinary means of prolonging life, who would've believed it. Florida has some serious problems if they believe food and water...
