**Exclusive**

President Bush's inner circle has become preoccupied with soaring gas prices and its toll on the economy, a well-placed White House source said over the weekend.

Bush has quitely asked for a review of any and all economic fallout on the nation if gas prices continuing racing up and over the psychological line of $3 a gallon, as they have in recent weeks in some locations, the source explains.

Bush's top economic advisers have conveyed to the president that a "nightmare" scenario of $4 a gallon is extremely unlikely in the short term.

"The seasonal run-up of gas prices has been tough this year, but like every year in the past two decades, we expect we will will see some easing," the source claims from Washington.

About time to do away with these designer fuels and start refining sour crude on a large scale.

Yep. Bush mega-deficits is part of the problem, driving the dollar down, oil relatively "up."

Strip the friggin' taxes off and we immediately get about 40% relief.

Don`t expect any effort from states with a sales tax.
Here in NY at 7.25% the state is collecting an extra .03-.05 on each gallon sold since Jan 04 when the price was around 1.40/gal.
I`m afraid that the states are using it to balance their bloated budgets.

A real replacement for gasoline would be incredible. The country best able to efficiently generate energy will rule the 21st century.

Some Midwest utilities are burning biomass in their coal boilers to generate electricity. If the daily commute were in battery-powered cars charged on household current overnight, that would cut gasoline use and crude could come off a bit. Nuclear really is the right answer. We just need to do it rationally.

Your solution sounded so good I sent a copy of it to our president. I hope you don't mind. I did not disclose your name or where it was taken from, just the content. I hope he will consider it as a means to keep the cost of gasoline down. Of course the best solution is to start drilling in Anwar. These environmental wackos seem to think the we will destroy, pollute, contaminate, disturb, traumatize, and eliminate the wildlife there, but they don't care that hardly anyone now or in the future will even visit the deepfreeze to enjoy them, and plus their junk science is as reliable as Nostradamus's predictions.

That was Jimmah Cahtah's response. He banned high prices and we got gas lines.

Just toying around, for now.

I think our hope is in Japan where the oil companies have less pull and no domestic "clout." Plus Japan, like most any other country than us, don't have a "free trade" crowd and embrace national interests.
