He brought it up when all the testimony in the malpractice case said she had little or no hope for recovery. That is the appropriate time to bring it up. This was not a DNR.

That's not true.

My stepsister was brain dead for 11 days. My stepdad said nothing to anyone until he felt they had tried everything.

After 11 days he said she wouldn't want to live like this and she was allowed to pass away.

I read your post.

Well you misunderstood my post

What part of "I'm not saying that MS intended to kill her that night " did you not understand??

It is very possible that he got into a heated argument with her that night and grab her around the throat .. but NOT with the intention of killing her

But if her oxygen was cut off and then add in her low potassium .. that could have lead her to her collapse

That does not mean he intentionally tried to kill her

thanks, peach

its a lot of material, and i am digesting it slowly, will not comment further until i am finished and can reflect on the contents.

to all: peach linked to the report of the guardian appointed by the court at the time of the intervention by the Florida legislature. this is the basis in law for the decisions of the court that have led us to this day. there is a lot of material including a link to the report of the hospital that treated her on the day of her stroke.

here is that link again

this stuff is the offical record, so to speak, and it is important reading for all who are concerned about this situation

I remember this one girl in my high school class, who was what I would also call pudgy in grade school, who drank 3 cans of Diet Pepsi a day. She looked like an ad for death. Her skin was all "bubbly", pustiles all over her face, and her hair looked unhealthy.

But she was in her 20's .. many young women did then and still do today do stupid things to lose weight

Doesn't jive. Her friends noticed a dramatic change in her appearance when she was in high school. I can't imagine her being in high school in her late 20's.

Yes, because they have disregarded a lawful subpoena of the US Congress that a witness be produced for a lawful Congressional investigation, and tampered with another witness who has been subpoenaed by Congress.

765.309 Florida Statute: Mercy Killing of Euthanasia Not Authorized; Suicide Distinguished. -- (1) Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to condone, authorize, or approve mercy killing or euthanasia, or to permit any affirmative or deliberate act of omission to end the life other than to permit the natural process of dying. (2) The withholding or withdrawal of life-prolonging procedures from a patient in accordance with any provision of this chapter does not, for any purpose, constitute a suicide.

Does this mean NOTHING?

Maybe they (Schiavos) are going to wish Terri a most joyful Palm Sunday...and then find a way to finish her off quietly. No witnesses, no cops, no media and once she is dead, no investigation of Michael. /"just suppose" off

ARRRRRRGGHHHH!

The truth is going to come out one day soon.

Just don't lash out if it's not what you want to hear.

That's true. You and I agree on a lot of things, but this story is one that just strikes me as odd.

My husband is unusually close to his family. They are very, very tight-knit. If they wanted to take care of him and I didn't (a scenario I can't imagine, but for the sake of discussion), I just can't see standing in their way, unless I knew he was absolutely adamant (and I'm talking more than just a "he said this one time over nachos" kind of a thing) about wanting to die if he was on life support of some kind.

I know enough about the case from personal experience to know that it will not be almost exactly what I am thinking.

Well, I know my husband is adamant. He has told me over and over. In fact, he's told me just to give him a bottle of vodka and a gun! I am clear as to what his wishes are and would never allow someone, even if they're well-meaning, to subvert those wishes.

That's good, too...but it sounds like this family doesn't have the benefit of that kind of clarity.

Although how he can be a bigamist since he's clearly still married is a mystery.

You may want to rephrase that.

I just keep hearing the words that another mother stated "why didn't he just divorce her?"...this was said by Lacy Peterson's mother after Scott was proved guilty of murder...It seems so simple that Michael should just relinquish control over Terri's life. But he can't or won't - WHY NOT?

That's why it's in court. In this country we settle disputes in court. Sometimes we like the decisions, sometimes we don't. Sometimes, it's a lose-lose situation, like this.

I guess it doesn't and its too late at this point. I find the whole situation just absolutely awful. I can see both sides.

I read somewhere that her surviving on tubes for the time she has been is unusually rare.

Some day Michael WILL be in jail. Even if Terri dies. Someone will write a book, and this will all be brought to light in a very coherent and cogent fashion. And Michael WILL pay for his crime.
