Yeah, I just thought there might be a sympathetic person on the staff with the common sense to quietly go against orders. Worth a shot.

Yes, MRS said he was pleased to dehydrate both parents, and the popular Larry King did not follow up at all on that point.

If true, that person would be castigated beyond belief--BUT,in my mind a hero---

I just don't think that if I were Terri's mother that I would allow MS in her room for one second after the tube was pulled---after all, that is his wish, its done and he should have NO MORE CONTACT with her---

I think they would have had to put restraints on me to keep me from scratching his eyes out---

You chose to leave out the fact that Terri's family also had a doctor look at Terri - was that YOUR intention? Please don't play those childish games with me.

Did she ever get out to come home for holidays with the family?

Ted was probably too young when the father made the awful decision concerning her.

I don't like to hammer away at even Ted because that family has suffered horrendous tragedies, but the irony of his sister kind of haunts me, like she was an embarassment.

I remember reading that she died not too long ago. It just sets one to wondering.

He's really going against his own church's position once again in putting party over an innocent person's life.

I'm thankful that some democrats still have a conscience and can think past usual party rhetoric. I had a young one with me today. And I don't hesitate to own up that the party I usually vote straight ticket on has a judge I'd vote out of office in a heartbeat . . .

It's all so crazy.

"Yes, this is the Government's business. This is not about a right to die. IF Terri had a living will this would not be an issue. This is about human rights and the disabled. The is similar to Roe vs. Wade and the can of worms it opened up. It could open the door for many disabled to be terminated because of inconvenience. The Nazi's started like this. "

People like me are a good example. Thirty years ago, I was a quadriplegic for two months after a broken neck. A lot of people were hoping for me to die, including a patient waiting for my heart. Hey, I beat the odds and here I am leading a valuable life, though I have some lingering effects. First Teri goes, then people like me.

Won't Senator Frist have to invoke the so-called "nuclear option" here to get the 50 votes needed (plus Cheney)ti adopt the House plan. That way he could do without Chafee, Warner or Specter, and those two women from ME.

I assume you are a physician. BTW, are familar with Dr. Bob?

>"There is a reason that no physician (other than Dr. K) has ever been convicted of murder or manslaughter in an actual case."<

- Would you care to elaborate on that reason?

I'm becoming convince that a certain poster is "getting off" not only on calling for Terri's murder, but trying to take every one else on---

Masochistic maybe?

Hildy, as Dan Quale once said, what a terrible thing for you to do, to waste your mind.

Ever hear of a PET scan or a MRI? There are the more fine-grained tools that neurologists use to measure the extent of damage to the brain. Terri only has a CAT scan, which neurologists today would concede is inadequate.

I have no doubt that Michael and the State court got a few quacks to who came to the conclusions you represent. However, the issue here is: State courts make mistakes, and the doctors they rely on make mistakes.

That's why, for serial murderers, we have habeas review in Federal Court, to make sure that the murderer's Federal constitutional rights are protected. Why is Terri entitled to less protection?

But I know you won't give an adequate answer; it will be more worthless talking points.

Because you and other lefties simply have a jones for killing people. See the anti-hero in Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment; it's the same kind of emotion.

I would not want to spend thirty years with strangers and family wiping my ass.

Well thank God, Dr. Charles Krauthammer did not share your immature opinion when he became a quadriplegic over three decades ago.

I've visited patients in a rehab facility for the brain- and spinal-cord-injured; AND, I worked in a nursing home for the elderly when I was a teenager. THESE PEOPLE ALL HAVE THEIR DIGNITY, even if someone else has to "wipe their asses."

I can assure you it is not at all uncommon to have to have help wiping one's own ass, long before one is ready to leave this world. Likely it will happen to you. There's sh*t in life. Get over it.

Didn't I read that Terri used to be spoon fed until MS thought it too expensive and ordered the feeding tubes inserted?

Stupid is as stupid does--any M. Schiavo is stupid---he is having an adulterous affair and having kids out of wedlock, but tries to portray himself as the injured party--

Okay, here's another one of my simplistic questions. Michael has had an adulterous affair and 2 children have resulted from this adulterous affair. Doesn't that mean he's violated the terms of the marital contract? Couldn't (and shouldn't) the contract be considered null and void?

See post 619.

The judge has been ignoring the testimony of many doctors and nurses who worked with Terri who say she is not braindead only to accept the testimony of Michael's hired docs.

Oh, and the judge has political ties to Michael's lawyers.

didn't MS disallow Teri's family being present when the tube was pulled...isn't he planning to have her cremated quickly following her death...what is he trying to hide, anyway?

Fine, though I mentioned NRO in my posts to you as what I was basing my info on. Look, you want to see her husband's wishes prevail, that's your view to take. But we're just going to have to part company here, because we don't agree.
