Just heard on Fox that U.S. Senate will convene today in emergency session regarding Terri Schiavo.
I'm not so sure I'd let any financial offer sit out there indefinitely. The fact that MS gave the parents 10 days to take him up on his offer, and I gather they DIDN'T tells me something too.
Why didn't they let him divest himself of his financial interests in the guardianship case?
Some OT, some NT. He came to fulfil the Law. Now we have a New Covenant. Whether it supersedes or perfects the old seems to be still under debate, but the fact is we have a lot of trouble knowing what to do in many circumstances. The Hippocratic Oath is ancient, but still a guideline. What is the harm feeding a helpless person?
And another thing, who are you to ask me why I am here. I have been here a good longer time than you. And I have friends. So keep calling me a democrat and YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY. You will be meeting the big guys on this forum and believe me, you don't want them on your skinny little tail.
So there!
Sometimes all it takes to live a good life is for someone to just love you the way you are dispite your medical dianosis. Terri has that.
As the mother of a disabled child, thank you for those beautiful words. They mean so very much.
I agree re the MRI. I've had several myself.
I think a more sure investment will be in the Nursing Homes and Hospices that will care for them.
WRONG! Unless it is contested in court it is your family's decision to starve you to death, if in fact, that is what you mean by "pulling the plug"
Good post. I believe Judge Greer thinks it's "I, the People."
It would take me all of 10 minutes to line up 5 doctors who would swear in court that you were medically dead.
Because his agreement required the removal of her nourishment... (i.e., her death by starvation).
Boggles my mind too. People tend to forget how the holocaust started..it started with doing away with the mentally disabled, then the physically disabled, then Hitler convinced his followers that the Jewish were an inferior race. Terrible, unthinkable things happened to the Jewish people. In my mind, I can see their bodies[just skin and bones] stacked up on one another.Gives me shivers.
I don't want this county, in any way, to repeat that time in history
yep, it might solve the SS problem if we all die as soon as possible.
There is a blog site where a woman describes the incredible corruption in handling older people's estates. It was mostly from congressional hearings on the subject.
"PING!!... "
Bump
That sounds even more profitable than a Planned Barrenhood franchise!
Yes, the non-productive eaters had to be eliminated. PURE EVIL.
Agreed it is a man made device that must be put in to make sure she receives nutrition. I am aware that some doctors think she may be able to swallow but that comes from both sides of the doctors who did not see her only offered testimony view records and video.
Please refrain from ad hominen. There are issues to be debated without such distractions.
I would like to think so, too, but then you and I aren't heartless and selfish. I have a hunch the heartless and selfish amongst us -- and that's a huge number -- would much rather the problem be "taken care of in a humanitarian way" than spend years paying for the care of their "loved" one.
I have to leave the house but will check in later.
I've told my husband AND my friends that when I'm gone, he's to wait six months and then there's an upscale place where middle aged and older folks go to listen to music and eat and it's a great meeting place. And we're older people.
There is no way I'd want a young husband to sit by my bedside for years. I wouldn't want to know about his "other" life and I wouldn't want him to ignore me, but I'd want my husband's life to go on as best he could manage it under these circumstances.
