If she's in a state as you claim, then your statement above is utter nonsense.Just because she cannot sense or feel any of this, it does not mean that we take away her dignity! Or ignore it!

Exactly. It goes to who people like me are. We're not someone else's property. Terri Schiavo is no more her husband's property than she is Judge Greer's. That's the point. We must not allow her to be killed under color of official authority. Its that simple.

That's funny, I thought it was about Terri, not other people.

It could be that Jeb won't intervene with the state police for fear that there would be a shootout, and Terri might be killed in the crossfire or by a deliberate bullet.

I need to stress that our rights come from God. This is the traditional American understanding of them. The government simply ensures we can exercise them. It cannot grant them or take them away. Our rights do not come from the hand of man or from the State.

"....She is certainly not expressing happiness..." I you know this because??? What? Because you would not be happy in her circumstance?
You are projecting your own feelings..not being objective.
Have you seen a baby aborted in the womb? There is a picture of a very interesting "natural" facial expression on silent scream.com you might be interested in.
Let me know what your projected feelings are to the fetus after you see that clip.

The United States Congress does not agree with you that she has necessarily received "due process". That's the whole point of the "Incapacitated Persons
Act" set to pass tomorrow, to have federal review of cases where there is doubt.
The amount of time a case goes through the court system, in itself, is no sure indicator of whether the parties have received due process.

It's fine with me if Terri is on the state's dime. Her care is what government should be about. HHH said that a population is judged by how it treats the least of its citizens. Jesus said the same thing. If we are to have federal health programs and Terri qualifies, she can be funded that way. However, the Schindlers want to take her home with home-health care.

Exactly. We afford a layer of federal appeals to condemned inmates. I haven't heard of a good argument for denying them to private citizens. We're all equal in the sight of God and ought to be equal under the law. A state judge can abuse his power and it needs to be checked. That's why we need a federal law to make sure people all over the country are protected no matter where they happen to reside.

Before, I just suspected, then I was tentative...but now I am absolutely sure of it...you're just plain nuts. ROFLMAO. I'm sorry, but that last post was just ridiculous, don't you agree?

Never put an innocent or honest person to death. I will not allow anyone guilty of this to go free. Exodus 23 I just got this verse from a new thread on poor Terri.

Abortion is not the topic, but as usual people jump to conclusions about my socio/political beliefs.
I am pro life and also against the death penalty.
I suspect you are real confused now. I really don't have time to explain, because your thinking process will not accept it right now anyway. You are too emotional.
It would take a essay to do it justice.
I may post one in the blogs one day..

Its an act of murder. If we were honest about it we would drop the euphemisms. What Judge Greer did was morally wrong and he acted beyond the scope of his authority. He had no more right to with hold food and water from her than he had to order her killed with a gun.

I am not "still talking about" your ass wiping comment. I made one comment hours ago about the need felt by those of your ilk to dehumanize Terri in order to justify expedient euthanasia. I just happen to agree with cajungirl that a certain crudeness deserves no courtesy. Maybe such erroneous misrepresentations of fellow posters accounts for the source of this: "...I'm so used to being attacked here, it was a reflex! :)"
I am glad that you are laughing, despite your narcissism.
To: goldstategop
That is the best summerization of the whole issue I have heard yet on this matter.
Very good post GSG
