Wolfson's report is based on court files, depositions, medical records and interviews with everyone involved.
That said, I begin with the most explosive allegation:
Did Michael try to kill Terri?
Wolfson laughs. "No!"
-----
Wolfson's report states that in the four years after her collapse, Michael "had insistently held to the premise that Theresa could recover and the evidence is incontrovertible that he gave his heart and soul to her treatment and care . . . In late autumn of 1990, following months of therapy and testing and formal diagnoses of persistent vegetative state with no evidence of improvement, Michael took Theresa to California, where she received an experimental thalamic stimulator implant in her brain. Michael remained in California caring for Theresa during a period of several months."
Says Wolfson now: "Michael was adoring of her. One nursing home complained he was hostile and abusive of the staff in championing her care. She was immaculately kept. In 13 years, she never had one bedsore."

Apparently not. It is business as usual.
I guess I'm not as pure as you.
No, it is SOP.
Same thing occurs in a contested will case. The money to defend against the suits, comes from the pot being fought over.
What a dumbass statement. So you really think the parents are more of a monster for wanting to care for their daughter who is NOT brain dead just for financial gain?
Hope, how long will Terri live is she's released to the family?
What a great guardian this wonderful gentleman is. Does he murder all his clients as he "guards" them?
BTW, SHE'S BRAIN DEAD? Are you a Dr. Have you examined her?
So, the Congressional members who are against activist judges are now.....er.....um....activists?
Which is what they've done.
No wonder Michael put the skids on video tapings.
Schindlers were exploiting Terri & still are.
Of course he is her enemy. His insistence on her death serves no one, and no good.
There have been many before her to be dehydrated while not suffering from a terminal disease.
Kids can be so funny and honest! It must have looked to him like large confetti that stuck to the walls. :)
It's bound to be Bush's fault; oh, wait, somebody already said that; both Bushes.
These are the length to which Terri's parents are willing to go to keep her alive. Even without a living will, I KNOW my mother would not do this to me and my husband would not let her.
Court testimony provided by members of the Schindler family included very personal statements about their desire and intention to ensure that Theresa remain alive . . . at any and all costs. Nearly gruesome examples were given, eliciting agreement by family members that in the event Theresa should contract diabetes and subsequent gangrene in each of her limbs, they would agree to amputate each limb and would then, were she to be diagnosed with heart disease, perform open-heart surgery. Within the testimony, as part of the hypothetical presented, Schindler family members stated that even if Theresa had told them of her intention to have artificial nutrition withdrawn, they would not do it.
Tom DeLay to hold press conference soon.
I came to that conclusion when I heard his remark yesterday morning.
Terri has had more SCANS than merchandise at Wal-Mart stores!
It is bullcrap. This just seems so wrong. They are dehydrating a living person. I don't care what the law says...this is sick & inhumane. Hildy is very disturbed to support this action.
as they like to say here, BINGO. I'm going to find that testimony from Terri's Father.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?r109:78:./temp/~r1090OX7fB::
"Fifteen neurologists have signed affidavits that Terri should have additional testing by unbiased, independent neurologists. I am told that Terri never had an MRI or a PET scan of her head, and that disturbs me only because it suggests she hasn't been fully evaluated by today's standards. You don't have to have an MRI or PET scan to make a diagnosis of persistent vegetative state, but if you are going to allow somebody to die, starve them to death, I would think you would want to complete a neurological exam. She has not had an MRI or a PET scan, which suggests she has not had a full neurological exam.
I should also note that the court sided with the testimony of Dr. Ronald Cranford, who is an outspoken advocate of physician-assisted suicide.
A 1996 British Medical Journal study conducted in England's Royal Hospital for Neurodisability concluded there was a 43 percent error rate in the diagnosis of PVS. It takes a lot of time, as I mentioned earlier, to make this diagnosis with a very high error rate. If you are going to be causing somebody to die with purposeful action, like withdrawal of the feeding tube, you are not going to want to make a mistake in terms of the diagnosis."
You got that right.
When I heard that, the top of my head nearly came off.
It's astounding that he's talking about this and isn't better informed. And disappointing.
