WASHINGTON, March 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today delivered the following remarks at a press availability on the House of Representatives' efforts to save the life of Terri Schiavo:
"It is now one o'clock on the East Coast, the time preordained by a Florida state judge to allow for denial of food and water to Terri Schiavo. This act of barbarism can be, and must be, prevented. The Senate has before it the Protection of Incapacitated Persons Act of 2005. This bill is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, they have chosen to adjourn rather than pass it.
"Those senators responsible for blocking the bill yesterday afternoon, Senators Boxer, Wyden, and Levin, have put Mrs. Schiavo's life at risk to prove a point - an unprecedented profile in cowardice. The American people are not interested in squabbles between Republicans and Democrats, or between the House and Senate. They care, and we care, about saving Terri Schiavo's life. The House bill will do that.
"Terri Schiavo is alive. She is not 'barely alive.' She is not 'being kept alive.' She is as alive as you or I, and as such we have a moral obligation to protect and defend her from the fate premeditated by the Florida courts. This is not over. We are still working, so are Mrs. Schiavo's lawyers, and so is the Florida state legislature. This is not over.
"To friends, family, and millions of people praying around the world this Palm Sunday weekend: do not be afraid. Terri Schiavo will not be forsaken."
Abortion was slipped in right under our noses before the times of rapid communication as we now have.Given that maybe we are more aware that Terri symbolizes what can become the euthanasia movement and many have no stomach to have that agenda shoved down our throats.

If the Govt. - vested with the sacred responsibility of protecting rights - does nothing, and Terri dies in the next few days, Michael will be walking about on God's earth. He will have no bullet in his head, no noose about his neck, no poison in his veins, no cyanide gas in his lungs. He will be free, celebrating with a dinner, engaging in intimate relations with his girlfriend, playing with his kids, probably out enjoying the Spring Florida air. He will be famous, too, for standing for the "rights" of the disabled.
The other side is expecting Terri's death to be crushing blow for those for her, and for innocent life. They expect it will jettison their own cause - pride, "dignity", placing man on God's sacred throne.
I hope this makes all of us very, very, angry if it comes to that. Angry enough to organize. Angry enough to take some action to bring an end to this judicial tyranny.
The Florida Supreme Court tried to keep Algore on life support in his fight for his political life. Terri is much more deserving of their time and attention. She ain't heavy, she's our sister.

If Terri was Black, the Boxer Dog and her cohorts would be clamoring for her well being, so would the Republicans..
