I bet you are "addicted" to food, clothes, housing, transportation.
First they come for the smokers.
They (gov'ment and trial lawyers) are already going after fast food companies. Anywhere either smells money, they will attack with fines and taxes or lawsuits. When they get substantial settlements from the fast food industry, you can bet they will start after the makers of cookies, cereals, colas, and another othe products that are less than stellar in health benefits. [Not that they want people to eat healthy; no, they just want to use that as an excuse to tax non-healthy foods.]

Enterprising cigarette sales sites will change their charge names, sell a book, or something else innocuous and give the cigarettes for free. There are ways around it.
Of course there are ways around it,---they may even issue their own credit cards.
These politicians are stark,raving,mad.

Using that line of reasoning, if government made all pleasures subject to onerous taxes, government would soon own all the money (whoops, they already do).

Ray, Ray, why do you post a useless chart?
No researcher worth their salt will even begin to accept a RR of less than 2, and most will discount the RR until it hits 3.
Ray, Ray, why do you continue to try to beat upon people KNOWING that they can counter you at every turn, unless you actually lie or use the state to enforce your wishes?

First they come for the smokers. Hardly. First they came for a whole host of substance users over the decades. Tobacco users are the ones who get to say "...and now there's nobody left to speak up for me".

The only reason government can control the smokers pocketbook is because the smoker cherishes his tobacco more than his freedom. Please, Ray, stop with the dramatics.

(Raycpa: not that I'm saying you're a fanatic :) fa·nat·ic Audio pronunciation of "fanatic" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (f-ntk) n. A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause.
Who is a fanatic (unreasoned enthusiam)? . One who is motivated to stay addicted putting there selves and their family at risk, spending lots of excess money on taxes and tobacco....OR one who doesn't ?
