**Exclusive Fri Mar 18 2005 00:50:07 ET** The Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee, Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) has requested Terri Schiavo to testify before his congressional committee, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.

Good morning! I was returning home from taking my beautiful children to school when it dawned on me that I need to pray for a change of heart in Judge Greer. Here in Panama City Beach, we will be driving with our headlights on today in support and prayer for Terry. Am trying to get the word out and maybe, like the ink stained finger effort, we together can make a huge impact. It's in God's hands and I know He wants Terry to live and be given a chance to recover!

And we must fight for equal rights for all Americans - not just the healthy, the wealthy but those that are alive.

Are you forgetting blacks, enemy aliens, bisexuals, transsexuals, homosexuals, lesbians, and animals such as birds, snakes, caribou, and don't forget plants, and water?

"....So she can be attached to a tube, totally incapacitated, for the rest of her "life", while the assets of taxpayers are drained to keep happy those who aren't suffering....."

Hank, I've always repected/enjoyed your posts, but I think you miss the whole point.

Her parents simply want to take her home and take care of her, on their dime. Not the taxpayers.

And who knows? Given the right kind of care/therapy her quality of life may even improve.

I personally hope it improves so that she can tell the world her side of the story. It's a prayer.

Only part of that statement is not presumptuous.

Terri should be allowed to live her life..even through her parents..What is disturbing is her brother's comments yesterday about the 33/35 doctors who are willing to submit affidavits and testify that Terri did suffer physical abuse (discovered through x-rays); that the husband was physically abusive to previous girlfriends, even while married to Terri. Someone should be investigating the husband...he's way too anxious to pull the plug on Terri, IMHO.

Whatever it is, I KNOW He does not want someone like Terry's life to be taken away by other humans. I have total faith that her life will prevail over her husband's intentions. Think positive - it is important. :)

According to what I have read, Medicaid is and has been paying for her medical care; she is receiving free care at the hospice because she is indigent. Don't ask me where I read it because I can no longer keep track of all the info I've read, just too much. Nobody, including her family, except MS, Greer, Felos, etc. have any idea how the malpractice award was spent because the records in Pinellas co. of guardianship a/c's are closed and not public, are not being audited because the judges in this circuit want whatever is going on with the guardianship a/c's kept secret. The state legislature appointed an auditor to look into the records (Robert Melton) and both he and the former co. clerk (Karleen DeBlaker) say they have been denied access to audit them all. A "cursory check" shows tons of fraud. I think Terri is just the tip of the iceberg.

And then he wants her IMMEDIATELY CREMATED, and psuedo judge Greer ORDERED HER CREMATED. Terri's a Catholic. As far as I know, Catholics are AGAINST CREMATION and that would NOT BE HER WISH. But, when has Michael Schaivo or psuedo judge Greer EVER BEEN CONCERNED ABOUT TERRI? IMHO, CREMATION IS TO "BURN THE EVIDENCE" of the crimes committed against Terri's body.

An interesting read.

I don't believe any of this would be going on, if there was some sort of health care proxy that had been signed by Terri. As far as I know there was none?

I can see why the Federal courts will not get involved. It is a state issue, from a purely "legal" standpoint.

With that said, I do believe that Florida is within its purview to pass a law concerning Terri and others in a similar condition. Why? Because there seems to be a difference of opinion on what Terri's wishes were in regards to her condition.

I am very concerned that it appears that Terri was not provided basic medical care such a turning, dental care, etc. Mr. Schiavo may believe his wife's life should be ended, but I don't know if that gives him the authority to neglect what appears to be reasonable medical and dental tasks that can make her life more sustainable in the interim.

That mustn't mean anything. A friend of mine worked as a nurse/servant for a disabled man during his civil service. One day the man fell out of his wheelchair or something like that and literally broke his leg and hip bones to pieces. If you sit for a long time in a wheelchair or lay in a bed your bones must get unbelievable fragile. The bones of this woman simply might have been broken when she got turned around in her bed or so.
