So in your opinion Vova should be the "President" Beyond 2008 ? Only if they change the constitution. USA had unlimited terms until FDR (who was elected four times to the office). If Putin is as successful as FDR was, Russians might want him to stay in the office longer.
Or he might become the regent as I said before :)
