>died at Saul, Downpatrick, Ireland, 17 March, 493.
He didn't die on the 17th. He died on the 8th or the 9th and they didn't know which, so they added the two together to come up with the 17th.
Thanks. Although my grandson attended 1st communion classes againlast night, when I asked him this morning who St Patrick was, he answered, "a preacher?" Now I can give him this.
Died at 106 years old? Is that right? I admit my knowledge of St. Patrick is a bit limited.
He was one of the most famous and most successful illegal aliens in History ...
This is another good thread from a few days ago:
T-minus 12 minutes till I can head home for the Guinness (I know, feast day I should be reverant, but hey I'm an American after all)...Happy St Patrick's Day!
