Child molestation knows no class. Jessica's dad looks and acts exactly like a parent missing a child. I know it is usually within the family circle, but could you imagine being accused of something like this while greiving? If the guy was rich, few would suspect him.

You are absolutely right about judging the Dad on the basis of his appearance. However, I cant use a broad brush in saying only the poor, or uneducated are suspect. Remember the well-dressed, well-spoken parents of Joh-Bennet? Who can tell who is guilty based on appearance? People who knew the BTK criminal - could they tell? People who knew Scott Peterson - they couldn't believe someone like Scott was guilty. There are very few who can be judged simply on appearance. Otherwise we would not have a concern about security at airports!
What is absolutely disgusting is that Couey and his family should have been questioned as soon as Jessica was reported missing.
As originally discussed on this forum - there were 200 registered sex offenders in Citrus County and 50 in the surrounding area of the Lunsford home.
This is devastating.
Perhaps Jessica did sneak out, had some clothes hidden that she had not worn in a while, and put on some old boots, or slippers - something that she did not wear regularly and that would not be missed. I know when my daughter was ten she had a pile of jerseys, old shoes, slippers, etc. that she could have easily thrown out, or given away things that I never would have remembered.
Suppose Jessica was upset about her Daddy going to be with a girlfriend, one she did not like. Suppose she was going to find him, look for him, make him come home, etc. That would explain why no barking dog, why the unlocked door, etc. Then, along the way some passerby in a car, with no connection to the community, no one known, a total stranger...just picked her up and drove off to another state or just far away in the same state? Someone who, up to that time, had no record...just some sort of unknown pervert?
I just hope and pray that wherever she is she is not hurt or worse.

You reminded me just how "vengeful" sweet little pre-pubescent girls can be. We had a school full of them.
Good work. Maybe that is why the grandmother had some unusual responses to questions - she may have remembered some of Jessica's normal pouting sessions.
My blog entry on the case, written yesterday and needing updating. for what it's worth. I'm still not convinced about this Couey guy although I can understand LE investigating him. If it was a family crime then they want to investigate all leads lest it be used as a defense against the perp. Inside cases like this are most often a family thing.
I keep praying she is alive somewhere, just alive and will be found somehow.

And yes Mark Lunsford just spoke on Greta and he says he doesn't know Couey. He seems to be telling to the truth to me.
Also got a transcript of a Catherine Crier interview with Jessica's mother. Man, she is some whacked out woman.

From the father:

We differ concerning Jessica's Mother. She works as a nurses aide, is married and has a five year old son.
It isn't because she hasn't tried that she remained estranged from Jessica. There appears no love loss between her and the Lunsfords.
