If that is Terri's wish, I say let her go.

It seems as if Terri's will is to live. Fifteen years of deprivation, which would cause most people to go insane, and she's still alive. I'd call that a will to live. I suppose if it's your wish, you can go. Still here? Darn.

There are no illegitimate children, only illegitimate parents. The concept of a bastard is out of touch with the mainstream and I would say that to stigmatize a child as a bastard would be likely to promote more abortions. If you value life you would not blame the innocent child.

Thank you for your über conspiracy about Judge Greer, a devout Christian and a dedicated Republican.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (BP)--The pastor of the Florida judge involved in the Terri Schiavo case has spoken out, saying that pulling the disabled woman's feeding tube would be tantamount to murder.

"This isn't about letting someone die; this is about causing someone's death. There is a huge difference," William E. Rice, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Florida Judge George Greer is an inactive member of Calvary Baptist, where Rice has served as pastor for five months.

Greer has ordered Schiavo's feeding tube be removed Friday. source

I do not believe he has a conflict. We disagree on that.

I didn't say the law said "has conflict of interest", I said the law said the guardian must be removed if he or she "MAY have a conflict of interest".

Let's try again, do you think MS "MAY have a conflict of interest"?

You do understand the difference in law, right?

From another:

RE: TERRI SCHINDLER SCHIAVO

I am at my wits end, because you SUPPORTERS of Terri's cause are IGNORING the absolute legal protection provided by Florida and Federal law concerning witholding water and food from the disabled:

(Read my lips here)

:I-T I-S A-G-A-I-N-S-T T-H-E L-A-W !!

Why in God's Holy Name are you not invoking this? **** michael can ONLY remove the feeding tube if that act does not interfere with providing Terri water and food. What michael did last time was absolutely illegal and he should be in jail for it, witholding water and food.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),42 U.S.C. Sections 12101 provides that necessary and appropriate rehabilitation services and physical/motor skill therapy may not be denied a substantially disabled patient in the United States of America.
Cf 28 CFR, Ch 1, Subpart B, Sect 35.130 States "Nothing in the Act or this part authorizes the representative or guardian of an individual with a disability to decline FOOD, WATER, medical treatment, ormedical services for that individual." WHEN WILL YOU SUPPORTERS WAKE UP!!!!YOU HAVE THE LEGAL POWER TO STOP ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO MURDER TERRI BY THIRST!!!Eleanor WhiteHamilton, Ontario Canada

pc, I believe I heard YOU say something to that effect.

I will GLADLY eat my words about Jeb Bush if Michael pulls the tube, refuses Terri food and water, AND JEB BUSH HAS HIM, [GREER, SINCE HE ORDERED IT], AND THE HOSPICE PEOPLE ARRESTED.!!!! It is past time SOMEONE from his family break from their hideous past.

This is where the doctors and I disagree with you

Logically, your statement can only mean that "the" doctors and you think she IS a vegetable. And btw, to which doctors do you refer? Only the two that agree with you? What about the testimony of the other doctors?

Cordially,

"...Thank you for your uber conspiracy about Judge Greer, a devout Christian..."

I read an article on FR this morning by the pastor of the church that Greer attends. The pastor says in the article that the "devout Christian" Greer, as you put it, has ordered a murder! You can use search yourself and find it, but I'm sure you're already aware of it.

I'm not really fond of conspiracy theories as you claim to be. I happened on the Terri story before her feeding tube was pulled last time. In reading the articles here on FR and pulling up newspaper articles on Google, I couldn't understand how this judge could make so many bad decisions. I know there are lots of BAD lawyers and BAD judges because I went to law school back when it was not filled with p.c. fools and there were some rotten people even back then and plenty more who wanted to be. At any rate, Greer struck me as not a fool, but rather somebody on the take - you know, that good old saw "Follow the Money." Well, I did with the help of a lot of Freepers and Google. I just wonder if anyone will stop this before this helpless woman dies.

In your opinion, the court is wrong. In my opinion, the court is right. I have seen nothing to change my mind.

There is NO OPINION! It is fact and logic. The right to life is a priori. What part of this do you not understand? Stop dodging the issue with your rants about what opinions who has. Answer the one question that puts this travesty in perspective: By what right?

Bastrad is a term used in legal papers, by certain health departments, and in sociological and anthropological research and writings and implies no blame. Maybe another thread can be started to discuss terminology, the meaning of "is," and related topics.

Just how do you KNOW Terri's wish? Or do you agree with giving a man who has a common law wife and children thereby becoming a bigamist the power of life and death over an invalid no longer wanted.

If this passes - all someone has to do is "claim" that the spouse once said they would not want to live in this condition. Therefore, murder is condoned by the courts.

I would believe this might be her wish if there were other witnesses other than the brother of the man wanting her dead, if it had been mentioned during the first nine years rather than remembered after he tired of her, or if he was not so willing to ignore the wishes of the parents.

This man cares only about what he wants and he wants her dead. He does not care about the horror he has put her parents through, he does not care about her teeth - denying her dental care, he does not care about her happiness or he would allow her parents full access.

Look at the actions and the man. No one could believe that Michael is a legimate husband. What about the common law wife and kids - I would think he is now more like an ex-husband.

Who wants ex-husbands determining the life and death of an ex-spouse?

I believe you are wrong there... FIANCEE is not a legal term. It applies to a person you have asked to marry you, and that person has answered YES.

Michael's family in Pennsylvania wrote up an obituary in 1997,
in a Pennsylvania paper, and in that, they wrote ....survived by... Michael Schiavo and his fiancee Jodi Centonze.

Michael also testified under oath on the witness stand, I
believe in 2000, or maybe it was 2002 that Jodi is his fiancee.

I have personally witnessed someone with only a brain stem act just like Terri.

Wow!
Do you reckon that person knew what was going on too?

"He's been trying to kill her -- that's the bottom line," said Carla Sauer Iyer, a 39-year-old registered nurse who cared for Terri Schiavo at a nursing home in 1995 and '96. She says Terri has said words such as "Mommy," "help me" and "pain."

Christians are allowed to disagree with their denominations. Christianity is not a gulag.

When the Pope spoke against the US during the Iraq campaign, I publicly disagreed with the Pope's statement. I have also disagreed with the Pope's condemnation of US for using the death penalty against convicted murderers.

Judge Greer is a devout Christian and a devoted Republican.
