My husband and I were driving in Compton, CA a few years ago and were pulled over three times by the police (all black), questioned as to why we were there and told to leave the area - immediately.
Oh ya we are white.

And if they told you to leave, it was probably for your own safety as well if you're not familiar with the area.

It was probably for your own protection. Some areas of Compton are horrendous. Big time Crip/Blood gang area.

That's weird. I am white, drive through the "community" daily (have done so for 15 years), and have never had that experience. It's a rat hole, but if you stay on the main streets, you shouldn't have a problem. Racism there? Nah, I don't see it.
