HARRISBURG -- Federal agents have seized computer files from legislative offices of a powerful Philadelphia lawmaker whose role in directing public and private funds to community and nonprofit groups has been under investigation, according to published reports.
The seizure occurred after a lawyer for Democratic Sen. Vincent J. Fumo unsuccessfully sought help from Senate leaders, arguing that Fumo's legislative computers should be out of the reach of federal authorities, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported, citing unidentified sources familiar with the investigation.
Federal authorities have been investigating how Fumo has helped direct funds to organizations including Citizens Alliance for Better Neighborhoods, a nonprofit community group run by his aides and associates. It received $17 million from Peco Energy Co.

This seems to be getting closer to the BillBoard Scandle with McG.
Wasn't there some advertising business alliance with NJ/PA and the company that owned the billboards?

Yeah, they have so many scandals going on, it is hard to keep track.
I just remember the company was part of the MidAtlantic Business Alliance that Philly and NJ are in.

Vince Fumo is a perfumed prince of the South Philadelphia political royalty. He is the nephew of the late State Senator Buddy Cianfrani, who had his beak (to use the Godfather metaphor) in every part of the cesspool that was/is Philadelphia Democratic politics. Vince, as so often happens with the next generation, is a little smoother, has horizons that expand well beyond South Philly, and plays for bigger stakes. Beyond that, nothing has changed.
For all those who try to cast this in terms of national politics, forget it. The South Philadelphia machine chugs along no matter who is in the White House or runs Congress. It epitomizes the old saying, "All politics is local."

I tell people that one of the reasons I moved from Pennsylvania to Louisiana was to get away from the political corruption.
Many folks think I'm kidding.

Just another day at the office for the lowlife, subhuman, corrupt liberal-demokkkRATs, here in Penna. There are some RINO-GOPers who need serious investigation in Harrisburg, too.
