No shame needed. I KNEW you knew. :o)
I have never despised the MSM more than I do now. Having a son who spent a 13 months in Iraq, and knowing what they did (and are still doing) to destroy the morale of our troops there, I now believe them all to be not only leftists, but bottom dwellers........despicable human beings.
A bit harsh, but my true feelings.......

police and national guard units are suspected of having been infiltrated by rebels. There's your answer if you cared to look So you shoot the police and national guard on the off chance that they are rebels. Sounds like good plan.

Actually is not that they're pulling out but the lousy timing.

Actually is not that they're pulling out but the lousy timing. Yes, horribly lousy timing. Nothing more than a coincidence.

Continuing here as I please.
Are you aware that WE are also drawing down troops in Iraq?
Drawing down is not the same as a date certain of withdrawal, on the heels of an additional cave and payout of millions to terrorists, with a probable additional "Spanish" style surrender to the terrorists.
Are you aware that Italy's withdrawal is dependent upon the adequate build up of Iraqi troops?
Political caveat for cover.
Who wants to wager that the Italians will determine the Iraqis will be MORE than adequate in taking-up the slack when the time frame they promised the terrorists they would flee Iraq actually arrives?

Can you please point to a source (i.e. facts) to back up your assumptions that there is a correlation between this future withdrawal and the commie journalist incident?
Facts only, please. No more "Who wants to wager...." kinds of comments.

My 'nose' tells me that Italy has been one of the few countries to stand by us in this war. My 'nose' tells me that the MSM lies through their teeth.
And my 'nose' tells me to wait for the facts before I go on a public forum and make accusations I can't back up with facts.

Whatever. I call um as I smell um.
And if you hazard to believe the Italian Govt. will admit to all aspects of their deal with the terrorists, considering they were so ashamed of their actions that they didn't provide proper battlefield coordination with the US Military for the safety of the assets involved...?

But in another piece of news it was said that the Italian parliament overwhelmingly voted in favor of retaining the troops in Iraq. What's up with that?

You're making a correlation that doesn't necessarily apply, which you are obviously free to do if you like.
Thanks again though, but I'll wait for the facts to come in before I jump to any conclusions. Berlusconi has been a friend in this war, so I'm not going to make any cynical assumptions based on incomplete information. (I'd never trust Chirac or Schroeder about any thing any time, but Berlusconi is different).
In any case, the Coalition/Iraqi troops will cover whatever is vacated by the Italian troops, and it won't hurt our war effort there. We will continue to defeat the enemy, with, or without the Italians, and I, for one, am grateful for what they have done in Iraq.
