CMGI TRADES 27+ MILLION SHARES IN FIRST HOUR -- CRAMER SAID SOMETHING
The Street.com ^ | 15 March 2005

Posted on 03/15/2005 7:42:28 AM PST by MeneMeneTekelUpharsin

Cramer put out something about 2 hours ago and man, CMGI took off like a shot.

Actually, the chart is not accurate. At the time of this posting, it had hit 2.22 already. Volume topping 31 million shares. Wow.

"Interesting item. Short squeeze?"

You don't get new Shorts under $5 per share, per Exchange rules, so CMGI "Shorts," if any, have been Short since CMGI was above $5 per share, which means that they won't get "squeezed" unless or until the stock goes back up above $5, if ever.

Neither is he or he wouldn't be using a YHOO chart. ;)

No, it didn't. This is a pretty big story in the financial markets. It has traded 32 million shares already in 1.5 hours of trading with a 20% plus increase. I could only wish it had fattened my wallet. You need to be careful about your responses and not become overly reactive or acid. Not a wise proposition...

I have seldom seen so many clueless individuals post on this forum. It sure has changed. What I am, I generally don't tell everyone. Or, what I do tell, is measured. :-O

What the hell is that supposed to mean?? Some sort of veiled threat for making light of your "news"? *snort*

I sold all of my CMGI on December 31, 1999 for $160 / share. Had a 16x return in a year and a half.

Gave my wife a full ride scholarship through college.

What makes this breaking news?

1. It is a massive jump in volume and price in a stock.

2. It hasn't hit the MSM media yet, so FR gets a scoop.

3. You'll notice (if you research) that I almost NEVER post ANYTHING in breaking news. I thought this was breaking news, so I posted it there. Next question?

Definitely a slow learner. You need to back off. I never threaten anyone.

Way to go. At least some did the right thing. Cramer put out something this a.m. and the thing went wild. Thought it might be of interest to financially-oriented individuals. I am appalled at the number of imbecilic posters who have come to roost at FR. We didn't used to have that much of a problem. If someone had a disagreement, they argued it logically. Now, the posts begin with sarcasm, etc. Sad.

Now you're speaking logically. Thanks for the info. Volume now at 39+ million shares. Interesting development, to say the least.

My son has the poster in his room of "the Kramer portrait" and when I was reading the thread, that's what kept coming to mind.
