mhking to be on O'Reilly tonight (3/14) discussing Nichols aftermath(On Now!!)

I'm going to be on Bill O'Reilly's show on Fox News Channel tonight, as part of their coverage of the aftermath of the Nichols shooting here in Atlanta.

The angle that tonight's show is going after is the history of corruption and incompetance of the Fulton County Sheriff's Department, first under prior sheriff Jackie Barrett, then under recently elected sheriff Myron Freeman.

The other guest in my segment will be Dick Williams, moderator of WAGA/Fox 5's The Georgia Gang and a writer with the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The segment is set for somewhere between 8 and 10 minutes past the hour; The O'Reilly Factor airs tonight at 8 & 11 ET.

...deadly chaos in atlanta. The justice system there seems to be out of control. The F.B.I. Says atlanta could be the most violent city in the country. As you know, brian nichols overpowered a five-foot tall female guard, took her gun, went on a rampage that left four people dead. Even though nichols had been caught with knives in his shoes, he was not cuffed, and a small woman was assigned to guard him. Here's what the d.A. Said about that.

>> Should a woman female deputy be transporting a 200-pound, six-foot defendant who is being tried for a violent sex crime?

>> Yeah, i think that women are capable of doing anything that men are capable of doing. I don't think it's the weight. I think it's the heart, the training, and the ability. I don't think the weight has a whole lot to do with it.

Bill: Talk about insanE. Joining us now from atlanta, dick williams, host of "the georgia gang" on wata, the fox affiliate, and michael KING (not kane you dolt...) of the black leadership network. You have a 5'1", 51-year-old woman guarding a big exlinebacker, ok, and it's the heart of the woman. This is the same paul howard who gave the woman who killed her baby, I'm sure you sue our report ag on that, tubal lyingation. This is the problem in atlanta, guys like him, is it not? U a as I told you before, this particular D.A. Is disconnected from reality. His confidence when it comes to these things is lacking. As a result, you're having issues like this and situations like this come up. There was a five-foot tall, 51-year-old grandmother who was assigned to handle this man, and realistically there should have been more than one deputy assigned to this. Actually, there were supposed to be two. There were supposed to be two other deputies watching this, and there weren'T. Bill: To be fair, howard does not assign that. That's the sheriff, mr. Williams. I'm not lang this on howard as far as the assignment, but howard's justification, the politically correct nonsense that atlanta seems to have embraced has led to armageddon for your city, sir, am i wrong?

>> The idea of paul howard defending the 51-year-old deputy, I have the utmost for laila ali, the professional boxer, but I don't think she could take down a middle linebacker for an nfl team in reality. The blame in this thing can be cast in several directions, bill. You have the fulton county sheriff's department begins has been in crisis for more than a year. You've got the d.A.'S office, which is of questionable competency bungling lots of high-profile type things. Then you have the atlanta police department begins controlled everything around that courthouse and let this guy slip away and put out the wrong be on the lookout alert that lasted 13 hours until they finally found the car they were looking for in the same parking garage. Bill: The car was in the same lot. Then they have security cameras on the thug as he ran out of the courtroom. Nobody was watching the security cameras. But here, yes, look. People who don't live in atlanta, maybe have never been to georgia, they are scratching their heads going how can a major american city, how can a major american city, mr. King, be run so he poorly? Let me throw this ouT. Ludicris was given a day, they honored him with a day in atlanta, the thug rapper. There doesn't seem to be anybody in charge there at all. The city is bankrupt financially. The newspaper, "the atlanta constitution" begins mr. Williams used to write for absolutely apologizes for everything that goes on down there. So I mean it's just a collapse as far as I can see, am i wrong?

>> Well, bill, you're right. The problem is a question of priorities. The priorities are completely misplaced. Starting with the police department, going through the sheriff's department and on down. Everyone has a sense that they would be more inclined to deal with political correctness than they would be to get the job done, whatever that job may bE. In this case, finding that car. They let a car sit in the garage five blocks away from the courthouse for more than 12 hours, ok? And the police did not find the car. A private citizen happened to find the car. Bill: But I think that's more incompetence than political correctnesS. Before the show began, you and I -- I used to work for mr. Williams way, way back. We were talking about a culture problem in atlanta. Why don't you explain that to us?

>> Bill, I think what you have got here, people around the nation have to understand that the city of atlanta is a very small political subdivision in a huge metropolitan area. It is mostly concerned with things african-american. Ever since maynard jackson was elected mayor back in the 1970's, everything has swung toward the political correct idea, the black idea. Got to have a black police chief. They won elections to the sheriff's office on their own merit. Everything like paul howard's comment, begins was just silly, of course, that's the way the world works in the city of atlanta, aided and abetted by the newspaper. Let me just tell you what the newspaper said this morning in their editorial about this matter, the newspaper that used to carry your column. They called the work of the atlanta police department less than stellar. That's not exactly a ringing indictment, bill. Bill: Are you saying, though, mr. Williams -- I'm going to give mr. King the last word on this. Are you saying that political correctness and racial -- i don't know what the word is. I can't even think about it.

>> It's a fixation on race, bill. Bill: Fixation on race and political correctness has caused the city, the mayor's office to collapse?

>> I would argue that because until this recent police chief -- and the jury is still out on him, the police department has been in chaos. The sheriff's department crisis after crisis has been well documented, and the district attorney's office under paul howard has fallen apart because he replaced all the old guys and brought in his people. Bill: Mr. King, do you see it that way, sir?

>> Absolutely. Atlanta has been portrayed as this black mecca of black development, of black leadership around the country, and as a whole, especially on the business side, that's certainly correct. But when you extend that into the government sector and when you ignore competence -- competent individuals or in place of or in favor of making sure that someone black is in place, then you end up with situations like this. You end up with paul howarD. You end up with the sheriffs like myron freeman sitting there twiddling their thumbs, if you will, as opposed to getting things done properlY. Bill: It's a shame. Atlanta is a great town in the capital of the south right now as far as population. I think everybody around the country was just stunned that four people dead, this judge, he's a good guy.
