I'm going to be on Bill O'Reilly's show on Fox News Channel tonight, as part of their coverage of the aftermath of the Nichols shooting here in Atlanta.
The angle that tonight's show is going after is the history of corruption and incompetance of the Fulton County Sheriff's Department, first under prior sheriff Jackie Barrett, then under recently elected sheriff Myron Freeman.
The other guest in my segment will be Dick Williams, moderator of WAGA/Fox 5's The Georgia Gang and a writer with the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
The segment is set for somewhere between 8 and 10 minutes past the hour; The O'Reilly Factor airs tonight at 8 & 11 ET.
Oh, and no, I don't think race really has anything to do with Atlanta's unique corruption other than there are black folks in higher offices at the moment so their circle of friends obviously benefit. It all trickles down from there. When crackers were in control the patronage went to crackers.

I neglected to echo the other's thoughts on here: I know you'll do a great job (and make us and your family proud)! Go get 'em "King."
It is a term for God to be in your travels.
Call it Stockholm's or whatever but the woman established some sort of bond with the man and it kept her alive. It also (imo) played a major part in his surrendering without other people being hurt or killed. I don't think that's something a person can turn on and off. They had to have gotten close enough in their conversations that each saw the person instead of an object.

The airport will always be the Hartsfield Airport. There will be no mention of Jackson in my book. That was sure appeasement to the blacks, if there ever was appeasement.
mhking, this thread is about your appearance tonight on o'reilley. I haven't forgotten. if you've been reading the replies between me and noblejones, you get the sense of frustration we are feeling over the "corruption" of the Atlanta government. I am proud of my city, and I hate to see its name drug through the mud because of a bunch of thieves - who, incidently, prey off their own race as much - if not more - than off us white residents.
THAT issue itself is why I'm truly disgusted with the city government - that they'd steal from the very people in this city who in most cases are socio-economically poor.
Actually, it is. The state government as it was reconstituted then gave Atlanta free reign to take what it wanted from the state coffers. The demoRAT dominated legislature acted as a rubber stamp as they understood Atlanta was the seat of their power.
You know Bill Campbell signed off on a 400 million dollar refurb of a debtor's hospital (Grady) that included a new wing with a façade of Italian marble? He simultaneously create a system where anyone can stroll into that "hospital" and get a prescription of any drug for fifty cents, no matter the actual cost.

Even if it was corrupt, someone said, "going all the way back to Reconstruction", that's not a good reason for it to be corrupt today.
